The civics lesson for hundreds of Chicago Public Schools students who skipped the first day of classes to protest Illinois education funding shifts Wednesday from the North Shore to corporate America.
The Rev. James Meeks, a state senator organizing the boycott, is scheduled to send buses of students to the lobbies of more than a dozen downtown Chicago businesses as part of a teach-in.
Some of the same students who traveled to New Trier High School's Northfield campus on Tuesday are expected to sit in the lobbies of buildings including the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, City Hall, Boeing Corp. and Aon Insurance, according to a Meeks spokeswoman. Forty educators will deliver four hours of daily instruction during the boycott that's expected to last through Friday.

Rev. James Meeks
a community organizer padding his Presidential resume?
No. It's a learning problem. How is it that some CAN learn but not all?
After thirty years of failure you would think they would get it.
I'm working on a few projects to draw some Illinois companies here to Texas.
Obama schmoozed with contractors while his poorest constituents lived in substandard housing built by those contractors.
I am an alumni of New Trier East and I never had air conditioning in my classroom!
Books? My parents paid for them. Supplies? Ditto.
Amazing. More money does not equal better grades.
Could have been worse in the Philly Daily News some crackpot commentator predicted a “race and class” war if Obama loses. At least here the Chicago Trib in another bid to alienate people who actually read their newspaper (I’m betting the Meeks demographic does not read much) did not call for violence against the “racists” of the North Shore (where the white libs who run the Trib live).
That’s great, the very people whom are in need of an education are out in the streets protesting.
Not much connect in the MSM that this failed school system is part of just what Obama can do for his state and plans to do for this country. How sad those idiots who feel that they are cheated in education still support the loser.

No, we do not teach people how to read write or do math - we are not in the business of that! We are in the business to make sure little johnny is 'special'.
That is why more families are homeschooling!!!
You are spot on, Alinsky states that the first job of a "Community Organizer" is to disorganize the community so he can stir up passions.
