Palin to try to silence media storm in debut

ST. PAUL (Reuters) - Sarah Palin has dominated the Republican convention for days without making a public appearance but on Wednesday she takes the spotlight with a prime-time speech that will introduce her to American voters.

(snip)

Also scheduled to speak on Wednesday was former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who made a failed run for the Republican president nomination.

Appearing on CBS' "Early Show," Giuliani defended Palin as being ready for the vice presidency and attacked Obama.

"I would say Barack Obama has never governed a city, never governed a state, never governed an agency, never run a military unit, never run anything," Giuliani said.

On Palin's family demands as the mother of five including an infant with Down syndrome and a 17-year-old pregnant daughter, Giuliani said, "Has anybody ever asked Barack Obama can you bring up your two kids and be president of the United States? They're asking can she be vice president and be a mother. Where are the feminists?"

(snip)

Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, whose own presidential bid fell short this year, contrasted Obama's speech to 200,000 cheering Germans in Berlin in July with McCain's global reputation for leadership.

"The respect he (McCain) is given around the world is not because of a teleprompter speech designed to appeal to American critics abroad but because of decades of clearly demonstrated character and statesmanship," Thompson said.

Thompson blasted "Washington pundits and media big shots" who have been critical of Palin.

"The selection of Governor Palin has the other side and their friends in the media in a state of panic. She is a courageous, successful reformer, who is not afraid to take on the establishment," he said.

I suggest we all pray for Sarah.

My opinion is she shouldn’t go out and answer the idiot media. She needs to stick to issues that matter about the country, and refuse to answer personal stuff.

If she goes down the road of answering such questions, the media will never shut up about it.

You're quite right....She's running for VP, not motherhood.

So what is Hillary thinking today?? "She probably knows how to iron, too".

(Wish I knew how to do cartoons.)

Notice Senator Thompson correctly refers to her as Governor Palin. We need to continue to attack the MSM every time they call her Sarah or Palin. It’s a clear attempt to neutralize her standing against first term Senator Obama.

I agree. When I went to pray this morning, Gov. Palin flooded into my mind. There was no doubt that God put her on my heart big time. This woman needs our prayers.

She needs to put up a overhead slide on that big screen showing two columns
One column Sarah Palin, the other Barack OBama.
then under each column list the experience and qualifications of each.
She might even put up a third column with Hillary’s name on it.

Well... Sarah and family are getting trial by fire. Unjustly, but what's new...

They wouldn't report on Edward's “love child” because it might be hurtful to the family... Yet they have no problem whatsoever sacrificing the entire family of someone they are in political disagreement with... With no cheating and/or marriage vows being broken...

If Sarah survives this, and I pray she will, she will be an unstoppable force. Reagan was hated by the media in a very similar way. We all know how that went.

She's not trying to silence anything, although if she's the person I hope she is, she will rip the MSM a new one (albeit with class).

Barak is the one who's trying to silence people, mounting threats of litigation to shut up his critics.

No, others at the convention need to do that.

I say physically remove the teleprompters just before her speech with the cameras rolling. Show what real people can do without a script written for a poser.

Late, I'm sure. I was so frustrated last night waiting for the speeches to begin. They need to get them more into prime time. Scheduled as they are, they're losing a large percentage of the audience.

Why silence anything? I hope she pumps us the volume! The Useful Idiot Media has realized that their attacks on Palin have backfired, so are now trying to put the genie back into the bottle. Stupid is, as stupid does. I hope Palin rams their own disgusting attacks back down their collective throats.

Succinct and true to every word. Nail on the head.

Was reading an op-ed this morning, some skunk leftist female “journalist” stated that

the policy of turning a blind eye to family problems has its limits.

Yeah, skank, we know EXACTLY where those “limits” are - they are ideological.

Where are the "feminists"? (notice the need to add quotes)

Cowering in fear, noticing that having a career will no longer excuse them from being women. On the other side, I expect to see real feminists emerge big time on the near future.

Sarah Palin will make a speech that will be red meat to us conservatives and put the Dems and their MSM sycophants to shame tonight. I don't know her very well, having heard her for the first time last Friday, but everything I've seen and read about her leads me to conclude

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS WOMAN!!!!
