McCain: Pushback on Palin hard and early today
Newsday ^ | September 3, 2008 | John Riley

Posted on 09/03/2008 5:51:17 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

You could see this coming a mile away:

With Palin scheduled to speak tonight, the McCain campaign comes out swinging early -- attacking the media for unfair treatment of its nominee, and promising an ad that will say Palin is more qualified than Obama.

In one e-mail, the campaign castigates the New York Times for a (Tuesday) story reporting that Palin was a member of the splinter Alaska Independence Party in the 1990s, based on what turned out to be an erroneous statement by one of the party's leaders. The party has secessionist and Christianist links, according to various accounts. Palin's husband was a member according to Alaska voting records, but not Palin herself.

McCain: "What kind of operation are the editors at theTimes running?"

Also, Politico's Mike Allen this morning reprints a long McCain attack on media coverage hitting MSNBC, CNN and others, promising that “the McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Governor Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a 10 billion dollar budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior Senator from Illinois” and “a forward-leaning effort to counter the shameless smears that have prevailed during Governor Palin’s introduction to the American voter.”

Did you see the “interview” conducted by Campbell Brown when she went absolutely hysterical regarding Palin’s fitness to be commander-in-chief? It was horrifying.

I actually did see that. Sick is what it is. I think the McCain ad is going to be a rocker. No pulled punches. Call them out for their SICKNESS. America doesn't want this kind of crap. It's just the kind of thing they DON'T want.

I have to say, I was a bit surprised by just how vitriolic the MSM attacks have been. And literally below the belt. Sickening depths, even for them.

I have faith that Sarah will do a great job, America will get to know her, and will accept her.

“I want Newt to be the Press Secretary.”

The press corp might be too scared to show up, for fear their mighty egos might be damaged.

mine due to I’m stupid when it comes to computers...let alone typing

Irrelevant. Those things are a pain for anyone. And unnecessary when logging onto a site that's password protected. They're usually used as first-time registration confirmations, but not for everyday log in procedures. That's overkill.

It would be something out of Atlas Shrugged though, wouldn’t it? The most accomplished of politicians taking lesser roles to hammer home the success of a political movement and ticket they really believe in.

Now that's downright weird. One would think an "Alaska Independence Party" with a native Eskimo as a member would be more likely to be a leftist "indigenous" national liberation movement than a "chr*stianist" organization (whatever that is). Are the Lefties against the independence of "indigenous pipples" now?

BTW, I resent the association of chr*stianity (a salvational religion) with legal, statutory religion. That's Judaism's bag (bet a lot of people don't know that).

McCain: "What kind of operation are the editors at theTimes running?"

The same one that has been trying to destroy the Bush administration (and this country) for the past 8 years. Get used to it John. You are an evil republican now not a maverick.

Have the guts to do that? This is the ‘real’ John McCain, fighter pilot, that was missing in 2000 in the ‘nice’ campaign. This is the John McCain who asks if they are over target and ‘bombs away’ which was part of the McCain attraction for years.

Go for it, hit them hard, we are tired of the useless Marxist biased news media.

“Yes. The McCain campaign has provided voter registration records showing Palin has never been registered as anything other than a Republican, and the AIP leader quoted by the NYT has said that she was mistaken when she spoke to the NYT. “

Awesome, thanks! Now when I rub it in my friend’s faces they will immediately run to their blogs and find some other lie to believe in, but at least I will keep them busy ;-)

Then I’ll rephrase. I hope he doesn’t play nice and try to be civilized, because the Dems sure as hell aren’t and won’t be civilized towards him.

The only news we watch is the local news (what a joke) out of Buffalo to get the weather which is seldom as predicted.

Also watch Glenn Beck, who is really quite good, when there is nothing else to watch.

Listen to Rush daily and read what is posted at Lucianne and FR.

Seldom go to Drudge as he never has anything positive listed on his site, it is all doom and gloom.

Lay off Hillary.

We want their voters. She’s not the nominee, and if we somehow win, we don’t have to worry about Hillary until the Morning after the election.

Best,

Chris

"Seems to me one tremendously important media member Palin has won over is Matt Drudge. "

Drudge instinctively knows the best story. For a while, it's been Obama, but now it's Palin. BHO is yesterday's news, past his peak. His "sell-by" date was yesterday. That's what the Dims & Drive-bys fear, and what Drudge senses.
