McCain: Pushback on Palin hard and early today
Newsday ^ | September 3, 2008 | John Riley

You could see this coming a mile away:

With Palin scheduled to speak tonight, the McCain campaign comes out swinging early -- attacking the media for unfair treatment of its nominee, and promising an ad that will say Palin is more qualified than Obama.

In one e-mail, the campaign castigates the New York Times for a (Tuesday) story reporting that Palin was a member of the splinter Alaska Independence Party in the 1990s, based on what turned out to be an erroneous statement by one of the party's leaders. The party has secessionist and Christianist links, according to various accounts. Palin's husband was a member according to Alaska voting records, but not Palin herself.

McCain: "What kind of operation are the editors at theTimes running?"

Also, Politico's Mike Allen this morning reprints a long McCain attack on media coverage hitting MSNBC, CNN and others, promising that “the McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Governor Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a 10 billion dollar budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior Senator from Illinois” and “a forward-leaning effort to counter the shameless smears that have prevailed during Governor Palin’s introduction to the American voter.”

No matter who does what, you can count on the media to overdo its reaction, then attack the media and count on a fair number of people to skip over the merits of the original controversy

What merits? That her newborn baby wasn't hers? That a sitting governor is too inexperienced, compared to a guy at the top of the ticket with an even thinner resume? Sheesh, what obnoxious spinners!

Too bad they wouldn’t use MY commercial, I’d use photos of the perpetrators liberally.
I heard Sarah Palin’s father was a Nazi sympathizer who admired Hitler. Oh wait. That was Ted Kennedy’s father.
I heard Todd Palin not only committed a DUI, he fled the scene and left his girlfriend to drown. Oh wait. That was Ted Kennedy.
I heard Sarah Palin’s family had a frisky daughter and they got her lobotomized. Oh wait. That was the Kennedys.
I heard Sarah Palin used cocaine when she could afford it, and she had this gig with a domestic terrorist where they siphoned off taxpayer money...Oh wait. That’s Barack Hussein Obama.

It would effectively COUNTER what the media has *tried* to do.

(PS Lots of people are joining prayer groups to specifically support the Palin family....THIS is a source of power the Left is simply devoid of...)

;-)

. If you’re a Republican, especially a conservative, there’s no longer an upside to trying to remain on good terms with the media.

Did you see how Newt handled the guy from MSNBC last night? He clobbered him and then kicked him while he was down!! LOL! Newt should give classes on the proper way to speak to these boobs. It's out in the open now. The MSM are our enemy and we shouldn't act otherwise.

The Establishment elite press has become nothing more than a lynchmob, but lynching a 17 yr old pregnant girl is too much. Time to fight back.

Note the use of the term "Christianist" as if it is a real word.

Did you see the “interview” conducted by Campbell Brown when she went absolutely hysterical regarding Palin’s fitness to be commander-in-chief? It was horrifying.

The McCain camp better get moving today defending her or the MSM will eat her alive.

This morning on CNN Planned Parenthood creep was criticizing Palin for opposing public funding for sex education and ending up with the prenant teenage daughter.

Hopefully, the average American will be able to relate to Palin rather than attack her.

She needs our support now!!

Yes its been debunked by the AIP, they said she’s never been a member. NYT even admitted they were wrong.

Obama’s campaign is using tactics engineered decades ago by Marxists such as Alinsky, Marcuse, and Adorno. One such tactic involves covering up one’s own weaknesses by accusing one’s rival of having that weakness. You scream over and over and over, unrelentingly, that your rival is “X”. The leftist media then spend weeks fretting over this alleged weakness, while you prance off unscathed.

This is why Obama, the least experienced major party nominee in anyone’s historical memory, has sent his cohorts out to howl about how “inexperienced” Palin is.

We see this same pattern over and over. Radicals who routinely shut down opposing speech, who want to bring back the “fairness” doctrine, and who want to pass “hate speech” laws, get up at leftist rallies and accuse the GOP of being “scary” people who oppose dissent.

Yep- there were 45 goals listed for the commies, many of which have been accomplished to some degree. here are some of them:

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Hmmm. Some people say it's the other way around.

Seems to me one tremendously important media member Palin has won over is Matt Drudge. He seemed swept up with Obamamania McCain picked Sarah. Oh, he’s still covering news on both sides, but check out his page now.

He’s both avowedly pro-life and a master of reading and feeling the zeitgeist of the country.
