McCain: Pushback on Palin hard and early today
Newsday ^ | September 3, 2008 | John Riley

You could see this coming a mile away:

With Palin scheduled to speak tonight, the McCain campaign comes out swinging early -- attacking the media for unfair treatment of its nominee, and promising an ad that will say Palin is more qualified than Obama.

In one e-mail, the campaign castigates the New York Times for a (Tuesday) story reporting that Palin was a member of the splinter Alaska Independence Party in the 1990s, based on what turned out to be an erroneous statement by one of the party's leaders. The party has secessionist and Christianist links, according to various accounts. Palin's husband was a member according to Alaska voting records, but not Palin herself.

McCain: "What kind of operation are the editors at theTimes running?"

Also, Politico's Mike Allen this morning reprints a long McCain attack on media coverage hitting MSNBC, CNN and others, promising that “the McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Governor Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a 10 billion dollar budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior Senator from Illinois” and “a forward-leaning effort to counter the shameless smears that have prevailed during Governor Palin’s introduction to the American voter.”

In Minneapolis, “it was as if the whole Republican convention had started drinking Red Bull,” said Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention, who added that when the McCain campaign had sought his input weeks before he had suggested picking Ms. Palin.

McCain: “What kind of operation are the editors at theTimes running?”

That’s an easy one. They are part of the Fifth Column.

Yeah baby! I can't WAIT to see the ads. They'll be piddling on the floor over at MSDNC.

I don't think he can afford the pay cut.

The party has secessionist and Christianist links,

Just what in the world is a chrisianist? Are they Baptists who fly airplanes into buildings? Catholics who wear suicide belts?

The way to destroy the MSM is gthrough the pocketbook. All subscriptions to their publications should be canceled, their broadcasts ignored, and and their sponsors should be told their products will be boycotted and not purchased. Bankrupt them.

And the $10 million McCain/Palin helped raise over the holiday weekend should help pay for some of those ads. :-)

I think I'll pop in and donate a little more change to further the cause.

Fifth Column:

Look up the Communist Goals for America as read into the Senate record in the 60’s.

You’d be hard pressed to find 5 of the goals that the left, the democrats, and the Times don’t support.

Has the rumor that Sarah Palin was part of the Alaskan Independence Party been officially debunked? I want to rub this in some of my liberal friends faces, but I also want to have my facts in order before doing so.

The Republicans are finally taking on the corrupt MSM and it’s about time. The MSM has pulled all the stops in its partisanship for Obama and made it clear that even the appearance of neutrality has been abandoned. If you’re a Republican, especially a conservative, there’s no longer an upside to trying to remain on good terms with the media. If the American people like Gov. Palin, the backlash against the MSM will leave it in worse shape than the DNC will be in come November.

They won’t do it, and they would probably be right not to,

but can you imagine the reaction to a 20 second ad with

Palin’s statement about their full support for their daughter, her marriage, and her family,

followed by Barry’s “punished with a baby” speech?

I was wondering about the term—I saw something yesterday where Andrew Sullivan was using “Christianist” as a term of abuse (I didn’t read the article but assume it’s meant to imply that Christians with traditional values are comparable to Islamic fanatics), but don’t know if there are any groups that self-identify themselves as “Christianists.” I doubt it.
