He looked and sounded as good as he did on the trail during the primary but the MSM was forced to cover it this time(at least part of it). I guess Carl Cameron couldn’t come up with a new lie to spread in the Fox newsroom to keep them from covering the whole thing at least.

Heh...he’s prepping Sarah.

She’s going to kick butt...

Fred’s speech was the very best presentation of McCain’s story that I’ve ever seen.

I hope McCain is saving Fred for SCOTUS.

Watching the RNC convention last night, when they honored the dead hero, the tribute to Ronald Reagan, and Fred Thompson's speech, I thought, the adults have arrived.

Obama’s and the Democrat's convention was all pomp, glitter, and Hollywood entertainment. The Republicans reminded us of why this country is great and why we need conservatives to keep it that way.

He ran because people were begging him to, not because he believed he was the man for the job...

Anyone who wants the job as much as any of the other candidates obviously did should be automatically disqualified from having it. Hillary Clinton shouldn't even be allowed to visit the White House,  because of her demonstrated lust for power at all costs.

"As much as I wish for what might have been, I will act on Fred's endorsement (though the inclusion of Governor Palin makes that decision more than a bit easier)..."

dittos!

OT: FOX just announced that Obama agreed to go on O'Reilly's show! whuuda thunk!

Excellent speech! Fred was great.

Did anyone else catch this at his closing .... “God bless John McCain and John bless America.” At least that’s what it sounded like to me. I’m surprised the left haven’t picked up on that.

I'll not disagree with that principle, but there's a difference between *wanting* the job, and believing you're the right person for the job. It's a subtle difference, but distinct.

Those who seek power, should, by any sane person, be suspect. But those who reluctantly enter the public arena, because they feel they have no other option, are a different breed altogether.

*THIS* is the real difference between Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin, and not their personal philosophies. One is an elitist, who seeks power for her own ends, and the other, everywoman, who entered the fray for the sake of her family, and neighbors...

RE: “Thompson was great. So was Lieberman.”

AGREE!!! And as a moderate, I had been prepared to support a McCain/Lieberman ticket. Now I’m really glad, however, that McCain chose Palin — I sure hope he sticks with her and they ride this thing out to the finish together. It sure has livened up the whole campaign and driven the “left” more insane than usual! More, please!

I talked with a black lady at church who was going to vote for Obama.

She was horrified at his stance on abortion and now will vote McCain/Palin!

God bless her.

RE: “One reporter had only this comment after FT’s speech... “We counted him clearing his throat 77 1/2 times” ????? What idiots...”

AGREE! So busy counting throat clearings they didn’t hear the strong messages delivered by Fred? So do you suppose they busily count the millions of ums, ahs, uhs, etc., that Obamessiah spews out continuously when he tries to speak without benefit of teleprompter? I think not!

What a load of Freudian tripe. I think you're commenting "above your paygrade". The position of God is already filled.

I caught it. I’m sure Freud will be along shortly to psychoanalyze that as well.
