SHE is the moose-hunting mum-of-five who could soon be the second most powerful person on the planet.
Ex-beauty queen Sarah Palin has arrived out of the political and geographical wilderness to send shockwaves through the US Presidential race. The gun-toting Alaskan Governors appointment as John McCains running mate has been met with glee by many conservative Republicans.
She is fiercely anti-abortion and went ahead with her pregnancy with son Trig, now five months, after learning at an early stage that he would have Downs syndrome. The former Miss Alaska runner-up is deeply religious and supports the teaching of creationism alongside evolution in schools. The 44-year-old Vice Presidential candidate is also a supermom who has managed to run the state of Alaska while bringing up five kids.

Great, positive article. Why can't newspapers in the US be this fair?

Maybe the Sun can put her on Page Three, if she has XXX appeal.

The Vice President? Obviously Constitutionally illiterate. The American Vice President has almost no power.

cuz they want their Messiah to be President. Pretty clear cut.
If our candidate was the black one, the MSM would play the race card against us. Because we have a woman on the ticket, they are going sexist. They really don’t have a moral compass beyond ensuring that the people who support their ideology are as victorious as possible.

The Sun takes a right of center stand (although Murdoch loved Blair). Papers in the UK are honest about where they stand ideologically.

If pushed, or through some kind of nuclear option, what could the Vice President do in his role as President of the Senate? Could Cheney go down there and force a vote on something Dingy Harry won’t bring forward?

They had me until, It is estimated that one-third of US girls get pregnant before the age of 20, with 80 per cent of those unintended.

Nothing. No.
Vote only in case of a tie. That is it other than serve if the President dies in office. It is the unofficial ‘successor’ and ‘spokesman’ that gives the Vice Presidential role its purely symbolic significance.

I LOVE the reader comments! The British seem really intrigued by the whole Annie Oakley thing while completely bored with the teenage pregnancy thing.
I don't think our press appreciates how exotic Sarah Palin is to some foreigners. He's actually more exotic to them than Barack Obama. They've seen black people before, but Sarah Palin is the sort of thing they've only seen in movies.

Question Liberal Authority
(Sarah Palin got more votes running for Mayor of Wasilla than Joe Biden got running for president.)

They've seen black people before, but Sarah Palin is the sort of thing they've only seen in movies. Brilliant! I'm loving all the hillbilly redneck etc stuff we are seeing in our press too. Good ol boys (and girls) totally freek the left out. No brains liberals confronting no bladder control -- that's what you get when lefties observe "hillbillys" & "rednecks"
