Putting aside Barack Obama's pious statements about family being "off limits", let us not forget that in every one of his major campaigns, Obama has benefited from information on opponents' family affairs leaking out via the media.

In 2004, his surrogates in the Chicago media managed to get George Ryan's sealed divorce records unsealed in 2004, causing Ryan to drop out of the race.

Later, when Ryan was replaced on the ticket by by Alan Keyes, surprise! it was revealed that Keyes's teenaged daughter Maya was a homosexual.

So is this just a coincidence that Sarah Palin's family was viciously slimed within 72 hours of her being picked as the VP candidate? Not likely. What we're seeing here is standard operating procedure from team Obama.

And it stinks to high heaven.

I'm sick of apologizing for the GOP candidates. Surprisingly enough, they're human and have human problems. Obama, on the other hand, is the media's golden idol who can do no wrong--even when he does.

Obama and his cretinous minions in the media need to be utterly and completely defeated in November.

If anyone read the case against barack obama, there was a part where he knocked off all his opponents so he could run unopposed. he talked about how we needed to rise above politics but secretly sent his minions to knock off his opponents.

He also talked about how axelrod worked at the chicago tribune and knew all about the files on obama’s opponents and it coincidentally came out...seems like he knew all about it.

All that the liberals are doing is beneath contempt. My compassion practice has been very strained lately, Antoninus. I find it easier to empathize with obnoxious insects than liberal humans these days. Usually when my heart loses touch with loving-kindness I can still maintain a solid intellectual perspective of the way. That may be second best but at least it's not surrender to a debased POV.

But I confess that it has become hard to find justification on any grounds for extending understanding or empathy towards those engaged in the malicious and willfully ignorant actions of the American left. I am not seeing them as fellow Americans any more and it's even tough to see them as human beings.

I'm sure I will recover and pull out of this personal difficulty. But will they? At some point antipathy towards virtue crosses the line into open antagonism and there is no longer anything in that mindset to extend compassion to. Or to put it another way; compassion for a demon is to destroy it and there's no spiritual struggle in that. There is no basis for "reaching across the aisle" to evil.

May virtue prevail in us all.
