Will Democrats pay for smearing Gov Palin ?
09.02.08 | Perdogg

Last year I asked whether the dems in the Congress would pay for the treatment of our military overseas and today I am asking will the dems pay for trying to smear Gov Palin?

I know that there are some "conservatives" here at Free Republic who seem to be posting every little smear that is passed along in the news media. I wanted Fred to win, but he didn't. I am sorry Mitt or Duncan didn't win, but why are some of their supporters aiding and abetting with these smears?

That's what I want to know. If I wanted to entertain this filth I would watch the news or read the kooky leftist blogs.

We don't need a thread every 5 minutes breathlessly rehashing every rumor or charge the left brings up. We need to be on offense, not defense.

Well they should pay, but its hard to say. The MSM will spike all news negative to Obama.

NoBambi should not even be in the race, yet he pulls approx 45% in the polls. There’s a lot of idiots out there.

The Marxist libs are going down. Let them keep talking their filthy trash. They are DESPERATE — nothing, including anyone, in the DemonRAT party can come close to Palin, and they know it. Combine that with what these trash are, and this is what you get.

They will if enough people channel their anger in the right way...

If you're sick of all this media BS, you can give it back to them in spades by volunteering at your local McCain/Palin office or online.

Will the “DEMS” pay for the smears and false claims?

No.

We will pay. Our sons and daughters will pay. Our soldiers pay for it with their lives. We pay for it at the gas pumps.

We pay for it by having to fight for the truth.

If we want a good America, a Free America, we will have to pay for it, with our pockets, our sweat, and our blood.

That’s just the way it is.

Reporting smears so we can fight back isn’t “abetting” the enemy. It’s opposition research.

They'll pay. Maybe not as much as they should but, they'll pay because they're angering the conservative base and reasonable independents which means they're going to have to pony up a lot of extra cash in damage control.

Hell, I donated to McCain because of the attacks on Palin....Now the libtards have to offset my donation.

Reporting the smears is one thing; putting them in the worst possible light, as somme here have done, is quite something else...

Just my gut feel, but the overthetopkitchensink attacks on Palin, in many ways she epitomises the feminist “the view” ideal of pulling off a high octane career and family, will backfire big time.

But, she is no shrinking violet, and as her life shows, can handle herself very well.

When we begin seeing more of her, she wows more people than not.

Dumbocrats are trying to pigeonhole her with a level of vitriol that is surprising and shocking, even to a cynic (realist) like me.

They will pay. Why? Compare the GOP energy four months ago to the GOP energy now. It’s a steady climb upward with a sharp bounce since VP choice. The GOP base is now growing angry and will intensify their efforts. We have time to react and counter. We have the sharper blade and will wield it with an intensity the left will regret. Their blade is dull and lacks the authenticity and genuine goodness necessary to win this year.

Sarah Palin is a conservative woman with the ability to hurt the left in real ways. They already feel the sharpness in our blade. They swing in panic and with flailing arms. Desperation is in their voice and they can’t hide it.

I may be out of the mainstream in my opinion on this...

but I welcome these attempts at “smearing her”.

Why?

This sort of thing is only harmful to those who are either guilty and covering up, or insecure and can’t/won’t meet them head on.

IMO what McCain/Palin needs is exposure, and lots of it.

People who normally wouldn’t watch Gov. Palin speak at a campaign event will tune in with gusto to see if the drivebys can trap her.

I believe the nation will see a strong woman comfortable with her ideology, comfortable and secure with her life, comfortable in her own skin, meet their slings and arrows in a straightforward, commonsense manner that is SO FOREIGN TO POLITICS AS USUAL that it will take our breath away.

The silent majority will witness firsthand a REAL political outsider REALLY wanting to do what’s right for the country... and will mentally compare that stance with Obama’s empty talk and Biden’s loudmouth bluster.

“16Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

17For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. “ — 1 Peter 3:16,17

Just my 2c.

"conservatives.. posting every little smear"

They aren't conservatives they are The EgoCons. A party, they fancy, consisting of themselves, Ronald Reagan, and Jesus.

Of course, being that Ronald Reagan and Jesus aren't here to speak for themselves The EgoCons are happy to speak for them.

Somewhere some Democrat is asking, "Will the Republicans pay for smearing Barack Obama?" The answer is 'yes' and 'no'. Whichever party loses in November can be said to have paid. Whichever party wins in November won't have.

Perdogg, OT maybe, but I did a thread on a different forum that featured Obama saying that Jack Ryan’s family was off limits in 2004, meanwhile his surrogates were emailing the details to reporters, even after Obama made the statement that they were off limits.

Problem being, Wiki was my source, and they deleted the page, how can I find that story again?

It is from the Chicago Trib in 2004:

“Barack Obama’s backers emailed reporters about the divorce controversy, but refrained from on-the-record commentary about the divorce files.[7] On March 29, 2004, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider ruled that several of the Ryans’ divorce records should be opened to the public, and ruled that a court-appointed referee would later decide which custody files should remain sealed to protect the interests of Ryan’s young child.[8] The following week, on April 2, 2004, Barack Obama changed his position about the Ryans’ soon-to-be-released divorce records, and called on Democrats to not inject them into the campaign.[7] The Ryan campaign characterized Obama’s shift as hypocritical, because Obama’s backers had been emailing reports about the divorce records prior to Judge Schnider’s decision.[7]”

Obama is being a hippocrite, he is busted, now how can I find that story and post a link to something?

Here is the delted wiki link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ry...nate_candidate)

It leads to page deleted now, but I C&P’ed that quote from the page 4 hours ago, now it’s gone...

Agreed 100%.

The more these MSM network journalists and others like like NOW, KOS, MoveOn, and other DNC backed pundits instigate these tactics against the Palin's, the more the public will be drawn to the Palin's side...and the more badly it will reflect on the instigators.

They are digging their own grave.

Highlighting any aspects of her life and career, including the nitpicking and pseudoscandals that many of the networks are doing has a beneficial effect; many more people will hear more about her, and despite the sleazy innuendos and outright sliminess and hypocrisy on the part of most media, her exposure to the voting public, especially the critical blocs of white voters, both male and female (go figger in a post racial race, whites have become the pivot vote!:))will prove helpful in the campaign.

As the old Hollywood publicist saw went, “any publicity is good publicity”.

It’s going to apply to Governor Palin in spades.

FROM THE ARTICLE:

About a month before the vote, The Chicago Tribune revealed, near the bottom of a long profile of Hull, that during a divorce proceeding, Hull’s second wife filed for an order of protection. In the following few days, the matter erupted into a full-fledged scandal that ended up destroying the Hull campaign and handing Obama an easy primary victory. The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had “worked aggressively behind the scenes” to push the story. But there are those in Chicago who believe that Axelrod had an even more significant role — that he leaked the initial story.

Save it before it disappears. It is the NY Times you know.
