Oh no, not Jerry!

I loved his performance in Smokey and the Bandit and the guy was a talented musician as well.

What a tremendous loss. So sad to see him go :(

I still watch some of them Bert Reynolds movies just because of him. I think I liked his acting more than his music. Real Cool!

RIP good buddy!

Farewell, fair minstrel. Your humor and decency make us all a little poorer with your absence.

That’s so sad.

I didn’t know he was 71.

Wife & I saw his act back when Smokey was hot. A sister-in-law was a secretary in the corp. I was in. According to her, he was just the way he acted.

We’ll miss ya, Jerry! God bless!!!

RIP Jerry. My dad loved your music and always smiled when you were on TV or the radio.

What a similar story you have with my dad... except the music. It was a different America while my parents and you were growing up.

Looks like this ol' Southern boy is gonna have to dig "Amos Moses" out of the 45s box and give it a spin on the trusty phonograph later...

RIP, Jerry.

Jerry was a hoot. He was also a cad and one of the best guitar players in Nashville. Chet Atkins stated so. At a little bar in Franklin we had some fun. RIP Jerry....

Very sad. May he rest in peace. Jerry Reed and Roger Miller were two very original Nashville stars that I linked together in my mind as compatriots of the same type of soul. They grew up with similar backgrounds and did their thing.
