As a mother of two children and a daughter of a mother who gave birth to 6 daughters; I found myself appalled and sickened to hear the critics of Palin unapologetically lay out her family’s personal life without regard for her daughter’s feelings. For what? A political punch in the gut? How dare you wag your finger at Palin’s family values as if she had control over her daughter’s decisions who by the way, was only being human. We all know someone who has gone through this same situation with their children. How is this any different?
Why make political hay out of this personal matter? How hypocritical of adults to say such hurtful words about a child’s actions. So who’s next on the hit list? Her down syndrome child? Or are your twisted views critical of her daughter for “NOT ABORTING” her baby, IF SHE HAD, tell me, would that satiate your ungodly desires for women to be recognized by the actions they take as “pro-choice” silences your lips?
I am personally offended by those who use children to politically attack their opponents. In my view, you are no better than a child predator who waits in the darkness to strike when the time is right. How dare you! I say if you want to use other people’s children as a bully club, I say to YOU that YOU have a very twisted way of protecting our children from harm’s way.
You may not admire family values but there are those who do! So keep your wicked lips off my values and STOP YOUR IRRESPONSIBLWAYS of using children to point out HOW MUCH YOU HATE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN RAISING CHILDREN WITHOUT THE GOVERNMENT’S INVOLVEMENT.
Let me ask you this: Did you get what you wanted? Did it have the affect that you hoped for? I THINK NOT!
Let me remind you that I am not surprised by your political antics especially after Hillary Clinton was thrown underneath the bus by her own party that dissed 18 million voters for a male chauvinistic presidential candidate who calls females “honey” and did not place Hillary on the ticket because she was a woman who would speak her mind, and a powerful woman who would put a wrinkle in his Utopian plans.
WHERE WERE YOU, WOMAN LIBBER WHEN THIS WOMAN’S CHILD WAS VISCIOUSLY ATTACKED BY POISON PENS? DO YOU ONLY SAVE YOUR CRITICAL JUDGEMENTS FOR THOSE FEMALES WHO CRASH THROUGH THE GLASS CEILING ON YOUR BEHALF WITHOUT RELYING ON YOUR FAVORITE IDEOLOGY? OF COURSE YOU DO, AND YOU STUPIDLY RESERVE THEM FOR THOSE WHO WILL NEVER PUT A WOMAN LIKE YOU ON A TICKET!
As for you boys who call yourselves “Republicans” or “conservatives” who think that Governor Palin was picked only because she was a woman, YOU are the ones engaging in “identity politics”: could it be that Governor Palin is a reformer, a smart leader with a good record of achievement, and held the top post in a very tough state? My goodness boys, haven’t you seen “Tougher In Alaska?” I have a feeling you boys wouldn’t be able to walk 1 mile in HER snowshoes!

I haven’t seen a single guy calling themselves a ‘conservative’ criticise Palin for being an affirmative action candidate. I wonder why Dora threw that dig in.

The press, public and even we freepers, need to be careful with that young mother to be. We don’t know all the dynamics of the situation. But young people under pressure and unwanted publicity could do something to themselves that none of us want. I hope and pray that everyone backs off and lets mom, dad and family work this out. I like Sarah Palin and think she will be a fantastic VP and perhaps even president. I know the Palin’s, with god’s help will handle this and help their daughter through this as well.

But this is a cranker. Americans still defend young women from bullies. Its deeply engrained in the US character.

The absolute WORST was CNN this afternoon when Wolf Blitzer was eviscerating Gov. Palen. Bill Bennett got so disgusted with the nasty piece by Kiren Phillips in her feed from Alaska, where she’s been dispatched to dig up dirt on Gov. Palin, that I thought he was going to hit Blitzer. He should have. Or he should have walked off the set never to return, since he only provides that bunch of Leftists cover by being the token conservative.
Three days ago, conservatives fell in love. Today a bunch of creepy thugs tried to attack our girl. This is a very dumb move for those attackers.
I even thought about ways to push the idea, so that it couldn't be ignored. But lacking any zeal for political organization, I did nothing.
Now, I sit and marvel at how, utterance upon sinister utterance from Obama, disclosure by disclosure about first his and then his chosen running-mate's voting record, and then the selection of Gov. Palin, and now the news of her daughter's pregnancy, by God, baby-hood seems to have become undeniably, unofficially the theme of this thing.
I hope we stand up real loud and unstoppable for our unborn, defenseless fellow citizens, and for motherhood.
Remember when it was "mom and apple pie?" Were we not at our strongest then?
It just occurred to me how odd the timing is of all of this. First, the Marxist kooks spread rumors that Trig isn’t Sarah’s baby at all! Why it’s gotta be Bristol’s baby. That lie was easily exposed for what it was, but then hours later, it turns out that Bristol actually IS preggers. Very weird, coincidental timing.
I’ve seen some here on FR, but I think it was more sour grapes than affirmative action.
There are several on another thread here saying that she should withdraw her nomination for the same reason.
