An adoptive couple IS family.

The love and care you give a child is what makes you a parent, not sperm and egg.

The best thing for the child is to be raised by loving, stable, married parents.

It's sad that that fact is up for debate, even on a 'conservative' forum. Shows how off kilter our society has become.

No one said anything bad about it. The guy stated on his myspace page that he is half black. His words.

I’m sorry but I DO judge the moral character and personal lives of the politicians that I intend to vote for.

Why do you apologize for passing judgment? Every human on this planet must pass judgments daily to survive. I pass judgment all the time -- I'm passing it harshly on you, for example -- and I don't apologize for it!

Thinking Palin is unacceptable because of her teen daughter's condition is not "passing judgment" on your part -- it's holier-than-thou moralizing in a smug, self-congratulatory and wholly heartless fashion, which reveals you as a pretty cold and self-obsessed person. This is NOT the same as committing perjury or getting blow jobs on the time and on the dime of American taxpayers from a subordinate young enough to be one's daughter. A man who does that is a creep. A parent whose beautiful teen daughter gets pregnant at age 17? Well, if YOU think that's because her family is creepy and of lose moral character, I think YOU'RE the creep with a pretty flawed moral character yourself, and obviously very experience of the world and where compassion lives in it.

Oh please, what about cheney’s daughter, reagan’s daughter.

yup - I already admitted that in another post. I think they can manage to live in obscurity, esp. in AK.

“monopolize this thread in your own holier-than-thou way”

I have responded. What is this holier than thou stuff?

How can you defend McCain? Do you? Is he a Conservative?

Ii have a feeling there’s more, much more. McCain couldn’t really have handed us a real conservative without issues. The issues are already surfacing. And I just hope she’s not for amnesty....

I am a huge proponent of adoption (gee, can you tell?!) and I am constantly amazed at the people who are blinded by “blood”. If I found out one of my kids was switched at the hospital, I would be no less his mother than the others.

Often, keeping the child is the more selfish decision. “I” want someone to love, etc. Holding onto that sweet bundle can be much easier. I have watched young birth parents hand over a baby to a couple and it is not something they do with glee to be free. They know they are doing something FOR THE CHILD. That is truly selfless.

ok, Let’s put this in perspective. Mrs. Palin has a 4 month old who she may no longer be nursing. Her life will be hectic while she’s campaigning. But, I’m sure she discussed and sorted out the details with her family and I’m sure the Palin family is quite capable of making family decisions.

What should not be up for debate is whether or not Palin has conservative credentials. The essential issue is the 2nd amendment which we carried by on measly vote in the Supreme Court. On that and on life, she is 100% conservative. There's not many other potential VP picks that you can say that about, Duncan Hunter would be about it, or some other governor.

Conservative principles sufficient for conservative turnout is the issue, and Palin's philosophy far outweighs this "issue" with her family.

There is more. There are drinking pictures out today already.

They were taken at several parties. Bristol Palin is holding a very large bottle of rum in one of them.

This is going to get ugly, and no I won’t link to the pictures.

Not all sperm donors are fathers, but all fathers, save those by adoption, are sperm donors. Speaking of him as "becoming" a father at some point after the child is already conceived is as nonsensical as the presumption that the preborn do not "become human" until some arbitrary point after the beginning of their existence.

I say again, the issue is not whether or not he is a father yet. It is is incontrovertible that he is ontologically the father of his child. The only issue is whether or not he will be a good father.

I know Roe v. Wade and the culture of death has worked its utmost to destroy this fundamental identity between fathers and their children, but I refuse to succumb to it.

Cordially,

“I think they can manage to live in obscurity, esp. in AK.”

i’m sure that is what the MSM and the dhims would like to see.

I am hoping she and mccain hit a home run this week.

this country will never be the same if the socialist/ closet muzlim and his racist wife occupy the WH.

Drinking pictures? Well ...

Isn't that special? Now let's Bork 'em harder! She was drinking! Maybe that was why she got pregnant!

FoxNews is talking about this now. They are saying that McCain rallied his base and generated a lot of excitement with the Palin pick. They are also saying people are rallying around Palin because she is practising what she preaches. They are saying Republicans don’t like hipocrytes.
