Perfume 'risk to unborn babies'
BBC News ^ | Sunday, August 31, 2008 | unattributed

Pregnant women have been told that using perfumes or scented creams may increase the risk of unborn boys developing infertility in later life. Edinburgh University researchers claimed a crucial window between eight and 12 weeks of pregnancy determined future reproductive problems. They believe that exposure to chemicals found in cosmetics during this period may affect later sperm production. But they stressed there was not yet conclusive proof this was the case. The research team was led by Professor Richard Sharpe of the Medical Research Council's Human Reproductive Sciences Unit, based in Edinburgh.

Gee, I wonder why this story came out, right after mother-of-five Sarah Palin was selected by John McCain's running mate?

“Unborn baby”???

The BBC’s editors screwed the pooch on that one.
We’ve been told for years and years now it isn’t a baby until it is born...

Not as big of a “risk” as an Obama administration would be.

Attention Kos and DU...

Sarah Palin wore perfume while pregnant. Can’t trust her judgement. Was it her perfume or her daughter’s perfume? I smell a cover up. Olbermann and Colmes to investigate.

I’m sure they are already on this topic.

Colmes stepped in it already and is backpedalling.

This is why Alan Colmes sensibly chooses to look, act and smell like an unwashed, dead skunk. In case he comes in contact with a pregnant woman.

It's all about judgment, folks.

:'D Yeah, there's another Colmes f-up regarding how the Palins had to elope, which has since been removed, and a fauxpology posted. The link trail is over on NewsBusters.
Jim Robinson is okay, but back in hospital

This sounds just like one of the dumb-ass things my ex-step mother sends me:

1. Don't sniff the perfume-in-the-handkerchief from a stranger in the parking lot at the store or else you'll get kidnapped.

2. Don't leave your water bottle in the car or else you will die from cancer if you drink it.

etc. garbage.

I never wore perfume when I was pregnant, didn’t want to take a chance.

I got one the other day about washing the tops of all your canned food in case a rat crapped on it. If some people don’t have chaos and impending doom in their lives, they create it.

This shouldn’t bother liberals. Aren’t they in favor of reduced fertility/population growth? I haven’t heard of any conservatives joining the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement.
