My first thought is that this sort of scrutiny has to be really hard on the 16-year-old girl in question. And my second thought was that IF this turns out to be true, I'll find it a really scary example - perhaps the most scary example of anything I've seen in a long time - of a politician who would do anything to get elected.

And if this IS true, Sarah Palin has opened her daughter up to a rough ride by exposing her family to the national press. The mainstream media only recently found itself badly burned when tabloids and bloggers completely scooped them on a salacious rumor (John Edwards' affair) that turned out to be 100% true. You can bet the press won't let this happen again, and I guarantee you that there are reporters in Alaska right this minute, poring over school, birth, and travel records, as well as looking at every photo of this family that they can get their hands on.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Despite my feelings toward McWhatshisname, Sarah Palin appears to be a good strong woman and can take on all comers.

There was a movie called “The Candidate” or something where Jeff Bridges is the Democratic President and Joan Allen is trying to get appointed as the first female VP. Of course, the Republicans are viewed as a smear machine against women.
Now that Palin is the REPUBLICAN VP candidate, the Democrats are pulling a smear campaign that make the movie look like a bad joke.
But let’s suppose that the rumor is true. So what? The daughter made a mistake and the parents supported the child? THAT is the horrible news?
Its the abortion lobby. They want you to believe that had they aborted the child, there would be no problem.

I suggest we start praying for her family, especially her children. And we should blame OBAMA every time his followers attack Palin’s daughter.
Let’s see... I’ll be this baby has a valid birth certificate; Palin can produce one, and put this to rest. That’s a better track record than Obama...

Only someone living squarely in the center of the liberal plantation could write this bravo sierra. The MSM has been in the tank fro years and to pretend the truth wasn’t evident until they got scooped by the tabloids on Edwards is hilarious. No doubt they’d love to bring down Palin, but they’d have much better success going snipe hunting.
and I can guarantee you that the scoop WILL happen again if the subject is a Democrat. The media will CERTAINLY protect their own.
