Freeper Analysis: Dems May Regret Glee Over Hurricane
Freeper Analysis | 8/31/08 | bcatwilly

Posted on 08/31/2008 6:15:36 AM PDT by bcatwilly

Many of the Democrats have expressed glee over the fact that Hurricane Gustav is going to disrupt the Republican convention plans, once again showing their true colors when a major natural disaster is about to hit an area where people are still trying to recover from the prior hit. Comments have even included references to the fact that God must be on their side, well what if God is outflanking the Democrats? Consider the following:

1. Republicans have taken political hits for the reaction to Hurricane Katrina (much of it unjustified IMO), and this gives them a national stage to demonstrate some of the changes that have taken place since.

2. None of us would kid ourselves that McCain is ever going to demand the same ooh and ahh (especially with the press flag waving for the other side) that Obama does from a football stadium. But imagine John McCain speaking via satellite from the Hurricane zone speaking Presidential and having a chance to connect with voters during a real tragedy.

3. I think Governor Palin is absolutely great, but many Americans obviously still don't know her very well. A sympathetic woman speaking to the country about the tragedy down there may just cement the love of many Americans, especially women, for her.

4. At least some of the Republican surrogates should definitely point out that the initial Democratic response was clear happiness at this coming tragedy.

5. A major issue in this campaign is of course energy independence, and we now have Governor Palin on the ticket that very much understands and has actively done something to work toward energy independence, unlike Obama who simply provides a blanket generic statement to a football stadium that we will be energy independent in 10 years. Even the threat to oil production assets in the Gulf really draws attention to this issue, and clearly the McCain-Palin ticket has more real solutions on deck than the other side. Let us hope that assets are spared as much as possible here from the storm.

Having given that political analysis, the primary consideration here should be prayers that lives are spared and damage minimized. God does work in mysterious ways though, so none of us really know what the ultimate outcome in terms of the election may be from this unfortunate timing.

Don’t forget that the governor of LA is a Republican now.

Well, the story is all over the net, but whether or not the MSM decides to follow up on it, remains to be seen.

Leave it to the Democrats to show their real compassion for the little people.

Democrat Don Fowler laughing about Gustav - "God is on our side"...

What a sick, diseased mind to think this, not to mention say it and get caught on tape.

This needs to be emailed to everyone you know...

You make some good points, but I think this hurricane will simply give the media a chance to cover something other than the RNC convention. It will also give them an opportunity to revisit Katrina, on their terms rather than the truth.

OTOH, McCain has been running a brilliant campaign...he may find a way to minimize the MSM impact.

agree.

president bush took the blame for katrina.

but the bulk of responsibility resides at the city, parish and state levels.

what did kathleen blanco and ray nagin do?

compare florida. they were self-responsible.

and they don’t whine as much.

The hit on gas and fuel oil prices affect a lot more people than a disruption in the convention/party. The dims are the energy production deniers especially when it comes to oil and coal.

If God really wanted to interupt the GOP convention, he’d have sent a storm to Minnesota rather than right smack dab in the middle of a few thousand welfare Dims... again.

God hates Louisiana? The Democrats rejoice in this fact?

That will surely win them votes. (/sarcasm)

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Democrats true colors are showing and again, most Americans aren’t going to like them.

The democrats have shown they would happily lose a war if they think it would gain them power. So why be surprised if they seek to profit off peoples suffering from a natural disaster?

6. It will be seen that some people will not leave no matter what, even after they know what Katrina did.

Bad things happen to good people all the time. What of the irony of Lou Gehrig, the Iron Man of baseball, being struck with ALS? I suppose God was punishing him, right? And on and on and on. They really need to shut it because they are already blasphemous enough.

The Republicans need to open the convention with that youtube video of that Rat chortling about the coming hurricane and its potential for disrupting everything, followed by Moore’s declaration that God is on their side.

President Bush implored Nagin and and then Gov. of Florida Kathleen Blanco to get those people out of the path of the hurricane before it hit. They sat on their hands and did nothing until it was too late.

I don't understand why Ray Nagin is still there. Blanko is gone due to her ineffectiveness.

Or Mississippi, where Haley Barbour got things under control very fast.

What's this love business for Sarah Palin? I don't have any love for Sarah Palin--I don't even know the woman. I just want someone to go to Washington and do their damn job for a change. I don't want to fall in love. I hope the right don't do with Sarah Palin what the left have done with Obama. Please don't anyone start writing about tingles up their leg!

“dems may regret glee over hurricane”

psychotics don’t have the capacity to feel regret.
