Just breaking on Fox. Not much info yet. People walking into are hospitals in St. Louis sick, skin turning blue and with breathing problems. Hospitals on Lock down.
???
They just mentioned it on Fox News....sounds very scary folks!

-the ERs were contaminated if the exposed patients just walked in.......HAZMAT should have been sent to them to decontaminate....or stay outside the ER in a decontamination area for a decon. it would be standard protocol to shut down the ER until they know what they are dealing with.

Cyanide doesn’t affect the uptake of oxygen. It has it’s action at the cellular level..
You don’t tend to get blue with it , usually it is flushed to cherry red.

From the MSDS for both NaCN and KCN:
In most cases, cyanide poisoning causes a deceptively healthy pink to red skin color. However, if a physical injury or lack of oxygen is involved, the skin color may be bluish. Reddening of the eyes and pupil dilation are symptoms of cyanide poisoning. Cyanosis (blue discoloration of the skin) tends to be associated with severe cyanide poisonings.
KCN is the worse of the two.
