Wait a minute. If Obama / Biden are elected, and then Biden resigns due to health, Obama would nominate a new vice-president at that time. It wouldn’t automatically be Nancy Pelosi. She might want to stay as Speaker of the House rather than become VP. Obama could choose her but he isn’t required to.
The Speaker of the House is 3rd in line for the presidency but does not automatically move up in the event those ahead of her don’t fill out their terms of office.
It’s a scary thought!

I think the Democrats’ internal polls are telling them something the that “news media” polls aren’t telling us. I believe Biden was chosen as a temporary VP to see what McCain would do. Obama is going on 60 Minutes tomorrow night to tell us why he chose Biden. They might have to do an update now that McCain has announced Palin as his VP pick.
