She walked out onto the stage in Dayton, Ohio with a smile that could light up Toledo and Youngstown, Canton, and Akron besides. Welcoming her to the national spotlight, a huge smile creased John McCains face as he gave her an affectionate peck on the cheek and looked at her as a father might see a daughter on her wedding day.
There's steel behind that beautiful smile that Democrats belittle at their peril.....

She will support our soldiers which includes her son and McCain's son.
Sarah Palin can easily follow the downward road of Ike Eisenhower in accepting trusting relationships with political elites. When Republicans chose Ike, Harry Truman said they would eat him alive. Truman foretold Ikes principle compromises, even as Republican leaders acknowledged Ikes proven character was vital to reverse ever-diminishing Republican Party influence.
The first major abandonment of principle came when Joe McCarthy denounced General George Marshall as a Communist. General Marshall had promoted Eisenhower over hosts of more senior officers, and supported his assignment as commander of the D-Day invasion. Ike determined McCarthy would not board his train in Wisconsin. Ike would also present a tribute to Marshall in Milwaukee. First his aides through supposed miscommunication allowed McCarthy on the train. Political aides then not only dissuaded him from delivering the tribute, but also convinced him to appear with McCarthy in speeches. Eventually he would participate in political lies surrounding the U-2 incident, completely stifling the character and principles of the man who lead allied troops on D-Day.
Conservatives who would associate with the Republican Party view Sarah Palin positively, but multitude enemies surround her. Because of her principles, McCain forces would grant her only such selective influence as increased daily polling numbers. According to Republican elites the era of Ronald Reagan and William F. Buckley is over, so Mrs. Palin fights in a political Cold War. She must summon extraordinary energy, cunning and allies to fight battles within the campaign as severe as any against the Democrats.
John McCain looks younger when he beams with pride.
also I loved the clip you can see on YouTube the ? MSNBC instudio reaction which was just
“Wow.”
“Wow.”
“Wow.”
“Wow.”
“ and let me add to that, ‘Wow’.”
Whu whu well alright m'am.
1. A lot of stupid voters love for BamBam his “good looks.” Palin is so cute & likable she provides a nice solution to that problem.
2. Jimma Carter was Governor before he went to the White House. So was Reagan. So, what’s the big problem with Palin moving to V.P. from the very same position??
She looks very natural with a smile on her face.
LOL
This bodes well for the future too. Whether McCain wins or loses, Palin will be a future presidential candidate, and who could defeat her?
Imagine what Hilary was thinking on Friday. < shudder>
I like “barracuda’ as a nickname. I remember the U.N. delagates thought they would have a walkover when Eleanor Roosevelt was chosen to head the committee which drafted the Declaration of Universal Human Rights. Instead the U.N. ended up with a much more embarrassing document than they planned, because she managed them.
Sarah is very refreshing and, more importantly, she is believable. I was in the arena on Friday and the writer is correct, she lit the place up.
I read a little clip from an interview with People Mag (IIRC), in which she talked about learning that she was going to be a mom to a baby with Down Syndrome. She went home and did a ton of research so that she would have a good handle on what she and her family were facing.
She does not strike me as a person who will run in fear from anything. She seems more like a can-do gal to me. I think Joe "Bullsh**" Biden is in deep caca doodoo come the debates.
:-)
I agree! And since I posted my comment above, I've noticed quite a few videos of Sarah on youtube posted by a student group. She is no stranger to answering questions during interviews. She will be fabulous during her debate. I have to believe it will be a widely watched. America will see how smart she is!
