Deputies arrest Casey Anthony, take her to jail
Orlando Sentinel ^ | 8-29-08

Posted on 08/29/2008 7:12:25 PM PDT by STARWISE

Orange County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the Anthony home shortly before 8:30 p.m. More than half dozen vehicles - some marked and some unmarked - pulled up to the house. The lead detective - Yuri Melich - got out and went inside the home.

Moments later, the door cracked open, showing Casey Anthony inside standing near Sgt. John Allen, who is supervising the investigation. The crowd who was gathered outside cheered. Someone yelled, "she's in handcuffs."

At 8:33 p.m., deputies escorted her out with her hands cuffed behind her back. She showed little emotion as detectives put her in the front of an unmarked patrol car.

She was wearing a t-shirt with Caylee's picture on the front and read "Have you seen me?"

Some in the crowd yelled "murderer" and "baby killer."

Good news..way down the page

“Early Saturday morning, the Tampa bonding company that had put up $50,000 to get Casey out of jail on original charges of child endangerment and lying to authorities about the disappearance of her young daughter Caylee, revoked that bond.”

Yeah I saw it. Doesn’t look like she is missing any meals from worry about her daughter, does it?

I have nothing but anger at that so-called “bounty hunter” and his headline-grabbing stunt of bailing Casey out of jail.

Couple of comments about this case....I think Casey’s parents and her brother are working with the police. Which explains why they changed their story from dead body smell to pizza and all the other ridiculous story changes. Casey Anthony is obviously a troubled individual who doesn’t work, has no morals, and I think she probably did leave little Caylee in her car and she died. Casey survives by lying and she does it well. I am quite sure her parents and brother (who encouraged her to talk when he KNEW the conversation was being recorded) do not believe that babysitter story for a minute.

I think that bounty hunter should be hounded to the gates of hell for being such a pain. Frankly I think the cops WANTED to keep Casey in jail and I for sure think her parents had the wherewithal to bail her out. They didn’t because, as I’ve stated above, I think Casey’s parents are working with the investigators. They want to bury their precious granddaughter properly. It’s obvious they loved her and they were the ones raising her. And since Caylee’s death was likely an accident, as has been speculated on publicly by the police, they don’t want their daughter to be jailed for what was an accident and not murder.

Casey hates being in jail, don’t we all? They are hoping that the jail will keep the pressure on for her to finally tell the truth.

This is just speculation mind you. May that fine bounty hunter go to hell the minute God brings him home.

I believe Casy has some involvement in the disappearance of her child. The point I was trying to make, but not to well, is that cops would also do the same to someone who was innocent.

I hadn’t heard of the scratches in the trunk. How awful if true.

One thing I know for sure is that in these cases the media will point fingers first, spread innuendo for ratings, and it then becomes truth to the public so until the police say one way or the other I just can’t judge. All we can do is pray for that precious little girl.

...”Once you smell it - you’ll know and you’ll never forget..”

I’d imagine so....which begs the question...why was the grandmother familiar with what a dead body smells like? Any possibility that she’s involved?

I share your frustration but I am really keeping up with this case...and Cindy is in complete denial and not helping a thing IMO..I try to limit watching her tirades against the press and law enforcement.

I don’t like having so little compassion for a grandmother who clealy loved Caylee..but she is more concerned about protecting Casey right now it seems to me. It’s like watching a train wreck..
Padilla played the fool..I hope he has learned a lesson.
I knew more about the actual court documents and case information than he did..
Casey is without a conscience.

I put this all on Casey..I think the parents have no control over her and I just wish Cindy would quit compulsively talking, speaking nonsense and get out of the news.
They are in deep denial.

Deeeep denial

Florida is dropping the ball badly imo. Casey needs to be in a mental hospital for evaluation not out on bail.

She has had two evaluations..
Her bond was revoked..I don’t see any other fool stepping up to bond her out.
I believe Casey is a sociopath..That can’t be treated..IMO
No conscience.
The grandparents on the other hand could use mental health treatment.

Oh, sorry. I missed where this was an anti-cop thread.

Yeah it could have been an accident, possibly even an innocent one, but if so she should have called the police immediately and told the truth right away! Innocent people don’t tell so many lies for no reason. I think at best, she must have been negligent in the death.

how does one know what a dead body smells like? She was a nurse. She probably knew. Grandma may just be in denial now or she may be lying to help her daughter. I hope it's the former. I could understand why a woman might want to believe her granddaughter is still alive even against all odds, especially if the alternative is believing her own daughter may be a murderer. I hope that's all it is with her.

She does not seem very smart at all.

Actually, she's playing the police, media quite smartly.

They have no body, no real evidence, bunch of circumstantial evidence, which means IF they can get a conviction or even charge her, the charges will be much less then if they had real evidence.

"Its possible that Casey murdered Caylee to get back at Cindy."

Which is why the Anthony's are desperately trying to believe their psycho daughter. They would be guilt ridden knowing they let Casey leave the house in anger taking Caylee with her.

I'm leaning toward Casey actually killing her little daughter. No mother could carry on like she did knowing her child was dead...unless they wanted that child gone.

Not one clue of any grief is coming from Casey. Not even the slightest concern her baby is missing.

Unlikely. Cadaver dogs will only “hit” on the scent from a body that has started to decompose — usually 12 to 24 hours, depending on weather.

If the child had drowned in the backyard pool or was left in an overheated car, why wouldn’t she just admit it now, negotiate a plea, and bring the search to an end?
