Obama campaign highlights Palin's 'zero' experience

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign on Friday blasted his Republican rival's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as a running-mate, highlighting her "zero" foreign policy experience.

"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.

Burton also criticized Palin as a vice presidential pick for her support of oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness and her anti-abortion stance, referring to the 1973 Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in the United States.

"Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies. That's not the change we need, it's just more of the same," he said.

The choice of Palin was seen as a bold effort by McCain to attract disgruntled Democratic and independent supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton, who was defeated by Obama in the race to be the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.

Palin, a telegenic conservative, has led the oil-producing northwestern US state since December 2006 and was the first woman and youngest person to hold that state's top job.

the Obama campaign just got rope-a-doped...

...Palin has a great story of accomplishments and she and her close friends can tell the entire story...experience as a PTA mom and experience as a mayor relates to heartland America at a deep level...being a governor brings executive experience...being a governor of a state rich in natural resources is experience needed in todays world.

on the other hand, the witnesses and friends to Obama’s story are people like Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Weight, Frank Marshall Davis, and Bernardine Dohrn, folks Obama doesn't want to tell the story...a senator sitting in congress being in the majority party when congress has a 9% approval rating and doesn't even have one bill with his name on it.

He'll probably select his mud hut brother as some Ambassador to Kenya or something.

Yeah, and he will double his salary to something like $2 a week.

Don’t your shoulders ache from carrying that yoke of “VOTE FRAUD” since 2000?

The Democrats are immediately making unfavorable comparisons of Palin with Dan Quayle. Interesting that the MSM has been spewing about the "gutter" politics and "speedboating" by the Republicans when they assist the Obama crew in worse hatchet jobs. John Kerry did defame and lie about his fellow servicemen before the US Senate. To say so was to tell the truth. What Begala, Boxer and others are spewing is more hate than reason. Only the Kos Kids will listen.

“I was always less bothered by Obama’s lack of experience than his dangerous Marxist philosophy. Palin is running for the number two spot, not POTUS. This issue is irrelevant to me.”

great minds think alike (yours and mine :) )

I think this will be the trolls’ strategery all the way to November. They’ll insinuate themselves into threads bashing McCain/Palin as not conservative enough for them, nossir! Then they’ll say things like, “I’m voting Bob Barr! And I don’t care if people say he can’t win! I’m making a STAND, dammit!”

Reading at FR must be excruciatingly painful for you. Why do you do it? Why suffer? Life is too short to live it as merely the bitter naysayer.

Gov. Palin has run a town, run a business, run a family, and run a State. She has proven herself effective at most everything she has done. So, I think some people underestimate Gov. Palin’s seriousness and competence just because she’s a very good-looking woman.

Coming from a man, such criticism is an insidious form of sexism really. Coming from a woman, it’s jealousy and cattiness.

Remember, its not really the front runner or the VP that is important, ITS THE PEOPLE THEY APPOINT and get their advise from!!! That was once told to me by a Democrat politician from NYC. It will remain in my mind forever. Palin is a breath of fresh air that hasn’t been corrupted by the old school DC workings. I have my fingers crossed that she will clean the house (and senate too ;o))

A vote for Barr is a vote thrown away.

At least she has accomplishments to point to and she is running for VP, not President.

Obama visited the Middle East while in college, and learned from his experience unlike Republicans who still support continuation of the killing in Iraq.

What did Obama learn that was unique? And, you want to talk about killing? Barack “let the baby die” Obama is truly an expert on killing.

“... it’s looking like Barr for me.”

No thanks. I heard him say on Glen Beck’s show that we should tear down the border fence because it’s ugly. And he has more personal baggage than Newt Gingrich.

The Obama Campaign has JUMPED THE GUN again.

By necessity Palin has the highest involvenment in international relations of any Governor of the United States.

Palin has to maintain direct diplomatic contact with Russia, South Korea and Japan as a matter of course, and indeed has more experience than Obama internationally.

Obama's international experience in Kenya, when he campaigned for the Orange Party there resulted in genocide between the Luo and the Kikuyu. Thats Obama's sole international accomplishment.

Palin has a lot of commercial diplomacy with Japan, Russia, South Korea and China, mainly because of Oil and Fisheries. She has been very good at it.

So the Obama campaign is all wet on this one.

They are drowning men, grasping at straws.

Its actually laughable.
