Palin Impact: Mitchell Asks 'Remember Barack Obama?'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 08/29/2008 11:29:13 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

What kind of impact has the Palin pick had on MSM coverage? We've gone from wall-to-wall adoration of last night's speech, to—literally within hours—Andrea Mitchell having to remind viewers of some guy named Barack Obama. Mitchell was kibitzing the choice of Palin with Bloomberg's Margaret Carlson and Time editor Rick Stengel. Not merely did the liberal [see here and here] Stengel praise Palin, he even compared her favorably with . . . Hillary Clinton. And Mitchell closed the segment by acknowledging that Obama had been "overshadowed."

RICK STENGEL: She has a very, very appealing story, and one of the things that is very winning about it is that it's like the Founders' view of democracy. I mean, she is a citizen legislator. She started as a hockey mom, as someone who was going to PTA meetings. It's a very compelling story. It's very unlike, by the way, Senator Clinton's story, who was married to a President of the United States. She's married to a commercial fisherman.

You gotta admit up until now this campaign was getting boring.
Go Sarah!
I may send in my first campaign donation....(Not usually a impulse ‘buyer’ though)

BREAKING NEWS: Palin has just challenged Obama to a game of one on one, saying she can take him easily because “Obama can’t go to his right..”

Huh? I didn't catch whazzizname's speech myself (life is hard enough without that!), but everything I've heard said it was a disappointment . . .

I think the bloom is definitely off the Obama rose! :D

who?

You know, the guy that had some sort of to do last night on TV..the one that in 10 minutes told the country how he’s going to spend $250 BILLION on this, that and the other. The one who promised change, yet chose a 35 year Washington insider as his running mate..

I think his name is Barat..or something like that..

From what I’ve heard she is conservative, pro-life, pro-gun rights, pro-marriage, pro-family.

Her son is in the army. That neutralizes the ongoing liberal taunt that Bush and Cheney and Republicans don’t send their own kids to war. She is pro-life and gave birth to a down’s syndrome baby rather than abort.

She fought corruption among fellow Republicans in Alaska.

She’s been governor less than two years, so the Dems. will say you can’t say anything about Obama’s relative lack of experience.

She’s a woman who made it in politics on her own, moreso than a woman who was married to a president and used that as a spring board to her own presidential campaign.

MSNBC needs to put a 24 hour suicide watch on Andrea Mitchell.

This morning she looked like a woman that lost all hope.

When she asked her guests what they thought of Palin she wouldn't give them time to answer -

She jumped right in and pointed out Obama's positives and Palin's negatives before they could get a word in.

Mitchell Asks 'Remember Barack Obama?'

I was thinking the same thing.

It's like, I must've been imagining that the democrats held a convention. It must be just my imagination because, the next day, nobody's talking about Obama and his nomination. It's all Sarah Palin and McCain all the time.

So, I'm still curious, did Obama finally get the democrats' nomination or didn't he? It seems so long ago that I can't recall what happened in that democratic party convention.

Hillary Clinton is a conniving career power broker who barely meets the qualifications for womanhood, regardless of what she thinks of herself.
