Will Democrats really attack Palin's experience? Obama's campaign has been about giving up big money and the corporate world to help people. Palin has done this in her community, fighting for the people, reducing taxes, reducing her own salary, and fighting unethical people in her own party. She has been working on behalf of people for 16 years (as opposed to someone who only talks about helping people.) She has big and small government executive leadership. And she will be the only person of the 4 who has executive experience. And now a comparison of their political resumes:
Sarah Palin
1992-1996 City Councilwoman 1996-2002 Wasilla Mayor - (Reduced her own salary and Property Taxes by 60%) 2003-2004 Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission(resigned in protest over Alaskan Republicans) 2006-2008 Alaska Governor
Barack Obama State Senator 1997-2004 (no real accomplishments) US Senator 2005-2008 (no real accomplishments, except running for President and paying off his student loans)
Go Ahead, Obama. attack... we dare you : )
If McCain picks Palin then it would be a really, really bad mistake for the GOP to make experience an issue, too.
Easy way around this. Talk about accomplishments instead of experience.
Bambi has almost none that are relevant. Sarah has a long list.
First her resume is not as thin or thinner than Obama's. My resume is not as thin as Obama's. He is a totally empty suit.
Second, she doesn't need to make the charge, and probably shouldn't. It will be the 600 pound gorilla in the news room. Whenever a McCain staffer is asked about it, they only need to reply, "She has far more quantified experience than Obama."
The rest of the McCain camp can continue to hit at BHO's lack of experience. The counter charge concerning Palin (the VP) will only magnify BHO's lack of experience by showing that even the fairly inexperienced GOP VP pick has vastly more than he does.
Its the hammer that will hang over the Obama camp if they dare attack her experience. Its a win-win for the GOP.
Bringing up experience will bring up a head-to-head comparison.
In a head-to-head Obama-Palin comparison, Palin has a slight experience advantage. It also forces the public to think about experience rather than the vacuous change/hope/race that the entire Obama campaign is based on. And finally, people will realize that amongst the two inexperienced candidates, one is running for the Chief, the other is running as a trainee.
If Palin is VP, win or lose, this puts the FINAL nail in the Clinton coffin.
I disagree, no less than an hour ago, I read that it had already been filed into a circular metal container.
I agree that this would be a “controllable threat,” as you put it, which is why the choice would still have merit. The biggest problem would not be so much her vulnerability to attacks by Dems, but the undercutting of McCain’s ability to attack Obama on experience, since he has to loudly proclaim that Palin’s experience qualifies her to be President. He also can’t solve that problem by claiming that she is significantly more experienced because only executive experience should count as he has none himself. It may give him some valuable inroads among conservatives and others, but he losses a valuable campaigning tool in the process as well.
Clinton will be pissed..and there goes her bid for Presidency.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA
“but he losses a valuable campaigning tool in the process as well.”
I think this tool has already been effective in placing doubt in the minds of voters. May be time to put this tool back in the bag and pull out new, novel, and just as effective tools available to us.
Palin has been McCain’s biggest backer for his “Drill Here, Drill Now” theme.
Everytime she’s interviewed, she’s going to hammer home that theme, and it’s a big-time winning issue for the GOP.
It’s not here race, gender, or experience...she’s right on the issues. Tax-cutter. Pro-life. Drill Here, Drill Now.
March 30, 1981, barely 2 months after entering office, John Hinkley shoots Ronald Reagan and 3 other.
That is why there should be no difference in the level of qualifications for the president and the vice-president. I truly believe that Obama does not have the experience necessary to make an effective president. I do not believe Sarah Palin has that experience, either.
I think that the selection of Palin is symbolic and used to excite the Conservatives.
Then it's a poor reason for selecting her.
The dims have it backwards. #1 has no experience and their #2 has a lot. Like most things they do, they do backwards.
And that's no reason why we need to make the same mistake.
Very easily. It is Obama versus McCain for POTUS. That’s where the decision will be made. What Palin does is energise young conservatives like nobody has done before. She will bring voters to the polls. Biden won’t bring anybody that Obama isn’t already bringing. Palin is a great pick. A young, dynamic conservative with executive experience which btw Obama has none of.
OBAMA BIN BIDEN together have ZERO executive experience
Palin owns them!!!
Her resume is thicker than the Obamassiah's , which is thin enough to read thru. The question will never be raised by the O-B campaign directly, but rest assured that the lapdog media will harp on it constantly....
Arguable. I'd say that neither resume is one to generate confidence in either one's ability to be president.
The question will never be raised by the O-B campaign directly, but rest assured that the lapdog media will harp on it constantly....
Of course it will. And if Palin ever tries to raise the "Qualified to lead?" question, she'll get it thrown right back in her face. McCain has said she is. They'll try to pin him down on that.
