As if a Rocky Mountain coronation were not lofty enough, Barack Obama will aim for Mount Olympus when he accepts his party's nomination atop an enormous, Greek-columned stage - built by the same cheesy set team that put together Britney Spears' last tour...
..."We've done Britney's sets and a whole bunch of rock shows, but this was far more elaborate and complicated and we had to do it in far less time," said Allen, of RDA Entertainment... ...Asked who is harder to sat isfy - the Democrats or Britney - Allen replied: "I better not answer that."

Hey Barry, “hit me baby, one more time”.
The Barakopolis:
It sorta reminds me of President Bush’s in 2004. I don’t see what is wrong with it.
Kathy Knight, a North Carolina delegate, said the Republicans will say anything to bring Obama down.
“All they can reach for is what’s negative,” she said. “That’s just tacky.”
they want mccain to say positive things about barry?
they want mccain to make a campaign ad for barry?
and the dems have said positive things about mccain and haven’t gone negative?
How much does all this cost???? As Hillary sits engulfed in debt, I’m sure she’s so happy to see all this.
I tell you, guys, it’s Roman, not Greek.
“Romans, countrymen...lend me your EARS.”
I’m amazed. I was convinced yesterday that it was supposed to be the Lincoln Memorial. But it’s not. It’s clearly the WH. The Rose Garden, right? It’s not the Lincoln Memorial. This is going to be an interesting night.
Ok, saw wahta you are referring to.
I concede.
A Greek tragedy of Biblical proportions?
I could have bought the Lincoln Memorial...anniversary of the I Have A Dream speech and all. But it CLEARLY is not the Lincoln Memorial. Now it just comes off as presumptuous. He hasn't earned the right to stand in front a a White House replica yet.
Could somebody please post a picture of Bush’s 2004 acceptance stage, because I keep hearing the comparison.
Bush was already POTUS. Obama hasn't earned that right yet.
Not to mention Bush's was far more understated:
What is the cost of this stage? The R’s should get this...and how many homeless people this would have feed, etc.
That's what I see.
Even the Lincoln Memorial would have been a bit presumptious, but it is the anniversary of MLK’s classic speech, and he is the first black presidential nominee. So it could have worked as a tribute to King. But this is clearly a faux WH. It’s worse than the presidential seal. Worse than Berlin. I simply can’t believe they are doing this.
“Bush was already POTUS. Obama hasn’t earned that right yet.” Bingo!
THIS IS THE STAGE THEY’RE TRYIN TO COMPARE!!! Please. Barry’s is a Roman ampitheater fit for a King, Bush’s is cleary Presidential....because he WAS THE PRESIDENT!
