In 1967 he became active in the German student movement and left-wing movement (post-)1968 (the so-called Spontis), first in Stuttgart and after 1968 in Frankfurt am Main. ... Fischer was a leader in several street battles fought by the anarchist Putzgruppe (literally "cleaning squad", with the first syllable being interpreted as an acronym for Proletarische Union für Terror und Zerstörung, "Proletarian Union for Terror and Destruction") which physically attacked a number of police officers. Photos of one such battle in March 1973, which were later to haunt him, show him clubbing policeman Rainer Marx, to whom he later publicly apologized.
His close friendship with Daniel Cohn-Bendit dates from this time. In 1971 he began working for the car manufacturer Opel and tried to organise his fellow workers for a coming communist revolution. (This was not organising on behalf of an ordinary labour union: the vast majority of Opel's workers had already been organised by IG Metall, the German metalworkers' union, decades earlier.) ...
In the Deutscher Herbst (German Autumn) of 1977, Germany was confronted with a series of left-wing terrorist attacks by the Red Army Faction (RAF). ... In May 1981 the Hessian Secretary of Commerce Heinz-Herbert Karry was murdered with a firearm that in 1973 had been transported, among other weapons stolen from an American army base, in Fischer's car. ... Fischer has also been criticised for attending a 1969 conference of the Palestine Liberation Organization, where Yasser Arafat called for an all-out war on Israel "until the end".

...International Crisis Group...
Speaking of the ICG, and with a bit more on the group...
I like Wikipedia too for a reference point. But there are snobs who look down their noses at it. So, here’s confirmation:
“The German foreign minister remains the country’s most popular politician, even as his past as a left-wing militant comes back to haunt him”

"... former Congressman and Obama Adviser MEL LEVINE"
I remember this clown. He was tossed out of office in the big Republican congressional win of '94 even though he was sitting in a presumably safe liberal seat in San Fernando and Burbank.
You want to know why? HE NEVER SHOWED UP FOR WORK. If I recall correctly, he was the Congressman who had the most absences of anyone in the US House of Representatives.
If we had an Administration with some stainless, forged steel ballz, they would have just stormed the damn place with FBI agents, arrested the lot of them, and shipped them all off to Gitmo for interrogation: it is damn suspicious to have that many subversive characters meeting in one place, they’re obviously up to no good.
BUT, as it is, and in the spirit of ‘changing the tone’ in Washington, nobody will say a damn thing about this at the White House, in fact they’ll all probably get an invite to a friendly Crawford Texas ‘Let Us Peer Into Your Soul Y’all’ party, so everybody can feel good about ‘em.
Does he have any friends who ever bombed the Pentagon? Obama and Bin Laden do!
Makes sense what with Paris Hilton doing video ads for him, and having a Britney Spears set.
He sure likes terrorists and socialists. Some president he would make...arghhhhhhh.
