House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of Drill here! Drill now!
Pelosi paused and asked the group, Right here?
Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: Can we drill your brains?
She went on to refer to the protesters, who continued to chant sporadically, as handmaidens of Big Oil. Arguing that increased offshore drilling would reduce gas prices by only a couple of pennies a decade from now, she referred to the demonstrators as the 2-cents-in-10-years-crowd.
Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer swiped at the demonstrators, too, saying that sophomoric chanting wont solve the energy crisis and that all thinking Americans know stressing the word "thinking" and looking at the crowd that America doesnt have a quarter of the words fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the worlds energy.
Too bad Ms. Nine Percent doesn’t have any brains of her own to drill.
I believe she is long over due for an intervention led by men in gleaming white coats.
ping
We can’t all be investors in ‘Big Gas’ like you are Nancy.
And NANCY, you couldn’t even invest in ‘Big Gas’ without ‘Big Oil’, you stupid evil hypocritical b1tch.
I believe we’d be better off with the old comic strip character “Nancy” as speaker, Nancy.
She was only ink and paper - but you’re only botox.
Insulting Americans is the way to solve our energy shortages, isn't it?
This stupid person should apologize for demeaning the taxpayers she is being paid to serve.
From the United States Census:
In 1990, the 21st United States Census, conducted by the Census Bureau, determined the resident population of the United States to be 248,709,873, an increase of 9.8 percent over the 226,545,805 persons enumerated during the 1980 Census.
For Census 22, the USCB determined the resident population of the United States on April 1, 2000, to be 281,421,906.
That's almost 60 million more people requiring energy in America between 1980 and 2000.
Heaven knows how many people are here today, and even more mysterious is how many illegal aliens are also here requiring energy.
Bottom line: I estimate that the USA has gained over 70+ million more people in the past 28 years.
300,000,000 people need energy, and that b!tch is insulting Americans???
That woman personally meets with state sponsors of international terrorism, and she has the nerve to tell people that they need their heads drilled?
Sheesh, what a cuckoo clock I am living in!!!
Dig those heels in Nan. She may yet cause this to be a GOP year.
Are they all gonna jump the shark?
Excellent.
Yep, American commerce has got to go. Big oil, big steel, big coal, big business is the evil exploiting the masses.
Its time to nationalize everything and pass out the cosmic kool-aid.
It's all about him.
Is a Republican allowed to say “Can we drill your brains”?
Just wondering.
If ya had to drill offshore to get Botox, Nasty Pellagra would be screamin, Drill here! Drill now!
maybe she’s try to ABORT everyone, not just infants!
I keep hearing this from the Dems....
” that America doesnt have a quarter of the words fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the worlds energy.”
Will soneone please explain to me why the amount of oil we use is significant?
We are an industrialized nation.
We pay for every drop we use.
We want alternative sources to be expanded.
We have been demanding that we DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW for a long time.
What am I missing?
.45?
Egan said, What the Speaker had to say about theologians and their positions regarding abortion was not only misinformed; it was also, and especially, utterly incredible in this day and age. ... Anyone who dares to defend that they may be legitimately killed because another human being chooses to do so or for any other equally ridiculous reason should not be providing leadership in a civilized democracy worthy of the name.
Dems keep burying themselves in feces.
