DENVER - Sen. Joe Biden has no bounce, at least according to the Gallup Daily tracking polls.
It's official: Sen. Barack Obama has received no bounce in voter support out of his selection of Sen. Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate.
Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Aug. 23 to 25 -- the first three-day period falling entirely after Obama's Saturday morning vice presidential announcement -- shows 46 percent of national registered voters backing Sen. John McCain and 44 percent supporting Obama. This is not appreciably different from the previous week's standing for both candidates. This is the first time since Obama clinched the nomination in early June, though, that McCain has held any kind of advantage over Obama in Gallup Poll Daily tracking.
The rolling polls at RealClearPolitics has Obama holding on to a 1.7 edge over McCain.
Tack on margins of errors and the race remains a tie.

Well, he did once say he would be proud to serve with McCain as President. He seems to be doing his part.
Biden never was a well liked figure, he was always a bit of a joke, that’s why it’s surprising he was the pick. My only explanation is the democrats lack a plausible foreign policy heavyweight. I think Sam Nunn would have been a great choice for the Northern more liberal Obama.
I didn’t realize how big a negative Biden was.
Today my in-laws, Democrats, said to me regarding Biden “Well - Obama lost our vote.”
i love it!
a vp announcement should lift obama 10 pts.
Biden did garner 0 delegates and 2,328 Iowa votes 1% 5th place in his presidential run.
With numbers like that, the Obama-Biden team should be formidable. [/s]
McCain might have to do something stupid like pick Lieberman just to be fair.
I’m going to bite my tongue now.
My immediate gut feeling on the Biden pick was that Obama is terrified of the Clinturds and sought the most powerful DC insider that he could find to protect him.
I still think that is the case.
I get the feeling that Biden was Democratic Party chess move to have an insider on the inside, a spy in the temple. Payback to the party for pushing Hillary out of the way for his ascension. Perhaps they don’t trust him much more than we do.
No bounce, but Biden can certainly give Barry advice on hair-plugs.

He’s a cad... And there are a lot of dems who haven’t followed this closely, who really did believe there would be a “dream ticket.” This comes as something of a shock to them.
And independents aren’t impressed by the 1st and 3rd most liberal senators running a “post partisan” campaign. Who was doing this electoral calculus? One of the biggest running mate blunders of recent memory.
If Obama’s only dropped behind McCain 2 points (so far) he should count himself lucky. His Biden pick may be one of the big factors that costs him this election.
The question now becomes - who will McCain pick to capitalize on this? A female, to pick up the Clinton votes? A latino, to try to grab latin votes? Or maybe a combination, someone like Linda Chavez... She came down way on the wrong side of the immigration debate, suggesting those against amnesty were racists, but it can’t be denied someone like her would help McCain a lot with undecideds.
bttt
I detest McCain, and have always thought Clintonism was a far larger threat than Obama. But the naming of such a long time fierce and arrogant Politburo member as Biden, did more to sew up my vote for McCain as anything Obama could bring about.
I know he’ll kick us aside at some point to some degree or another. He does it a lot unfortunately.
McCain can steal the season if he really fires it up on his choice.
It needs to be a woman. Wouldn’t that pull the mask off of the Hill fans? They blabber on about how badly they want to bust through that glass ceiling.
Actually, if there are truly twenty some percent of Hillary supporters leaning toward McCain, he could lock it by picking the right female.
Is it possible that Sam Nunn was not interested in signing on to a sinking ship?
