I noted this morning that the Obama campaigns Chicago-style thug effort to shut down the independent ad on Bill Ayers is part of the larger effort to intimidate conservative donors and curtail the free speech of The Ones critics.
Its getting uglier, people.
Obamas lawyer has sent a second letter to the Justice Department calling for the head of Dallas billionare Harold Simmons, who funded the Ayers ad that the Obama campaign doesnt want the public to see.
Feel the chill:
Obama general counsel Bob Bauer today sent a second, sharper letter to the Justice Department, directly attacking the Dallas billionaire funding a harsh attack ad, Harold Simmons.
We reiterate our request that the Department of Justice fulfill its commitment to take prompt action to investigate and to prosecute the American issues Project, and we further request that the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute Howard (sic) Simmons for a knowing and willful violation of the individual aggregate contribution limits, he wrote.
He called the groups activities patently illegal.
Bauer made the case that Simmons group [is not] fulfilling its [...] nonprofit charter because it hasnt spent any money on anything other than attacking Obama. Simmons spokesman, Christian Pinkston, told me yesterday that plans to, and dismissed the complaints as an effort to lawyer away charges the campaign cant rebut.
I posted AIPs rebuttal here yesterday. And as Ive noted today and will note again: Obama has some nerve whining about campaign finance integrity after getting caught hiding $800,000 in ACORN payments.
Whats going on? Simple: The Left has its George Soros sugar daddy and cant stand that conservatives have their own committed benefactors. Theyve got a massive non-profit infrastructure funded with taxpayers and operating flagrantly in an illegal, partisan manner (hello, ACORN Watch!). They want the playing field all to themselves. And they are fighting for that turf by any means necessary.
Can they do it?
No, they cant. Not if you dont let them.
This kind of force has kept Robert Mugabe in power despite 10,000% inflation of several years. Can you say intimidation to the max as well as "getting rid of" one's enemies?
HF
Hmm ... I wonder why he'd want a civilian national security force with tanks, artillery (tube and MLRS), and tactical nuclear weapons???
Just try to imagine these scumbag Obama-thugs with the WH and US Dept. of Justice in their depraved, vicious hands.......
SCUMBAGS!!!!!!!!!!
We cannot allow the Obamanators to do this kind of crap from within the federal govt. The Clintonistas were bad enough, and we are still trying to recover from them.
Obama is stupid to be filing suit and running a counter ad. All this does is keep the story in the news.
Hannity had Susan Estridge on his show today. She said that when your opponent hits you with something you don’t want to talk about, what do you do? She said you change the story. She said you never come back and try and refute the charge in and ad. All it does is make it a bigger story.
Obama really cannot take anything. He has got to be the most thin skinned politician ever. Of course by whining over ever McCain ad, they are really trying to put race into play. They basically want to use the media and scare McCain into thinking he cannot say anything negative about Obama, because they can accuse McCain of racism.
bttt
The word is empty, spent, meaningless.
That’s really smart.
Keep calling attention to it and pretty soon everyone in America will have seen the ad.
Of course, if it’s a false ad, I anxiously await their evidence.
Still waiting...
Harold Simmons deserves all our moral support and encouragement
Deja vu? They've been doing the same for Corsi.
(I say 'for' because, as here, they're doing him a favor).
yes, i think it is my creation. i did not see it before.
but, there are a lot of creative minds on this forum who may claim fame.
anyway, thank you.
“...goon squads to intimidate conservatives...”
When I read that I immediately realized how stupid Obama and his inner circle really are!
Conservatives have lots and lots of guns. Who do they think exactly are going to all those gun shows? The Brady Bill supporters?
And no way are we going to give up our guns. Unwrapping our cold, dead fingers says it right.
Standing behind Brock was John Podesta, a former chief of staff in the Clinton administration and the head of the "progressive" Washington, DC think tank, the Center for American Progress. In 2004 Podesta provided Brock with office space
Media Matters received over $2 million in seed donations from a roster of affluent donors including Leo Hindery Jr., a former cable magnate; Susie Tompkins Buell, a co-founder of the fashion company Esprit and a close ally of Senator Hillary Clinton; James Hormel, a San Francisco philanthropist who nearly served as ambassador to Luxembourg during the Clinton administration; Bren Simon, a Democratic activist and the wife of shopping-mall developer Mel Simon; and New York psychologist and philanthropist Gail Furman. Media Matters, which can accept tax-deductible contributions under section 501(c)(3) (Supposed to be NON-PARTISAN)of the tax code, has also benefited from the patronage of Peter Lewis, chairman of Progressive Corporation and a longtime consort of leftist financier George Soros
another Soros affiliate that bankrolled Media Matters was the New Democratic Network. In addition, Soros is reported to be involved in the newly formed Democracy Alliance, a partnership of some 80 affluent financiers who each have vowed to contribute $1 million or more in order to build up an ideological infrastructure of leftist thinks tanks and advocacy groups. News reports list Media Matters as a main beneficiary of the Alliance's funding.
Prior to founding Media Matters, David Brock met with a number of leading Democratic Party figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, former Senator Tom Daschle of South Dakota, and former Vice President Al Gore. Today, more than a few of the organization's roughly 30 staff members are Democratic operatives. Among these are Media Matters' chief communications strategist Dennis Yedwab, who is also the Director of Strategic Resources at Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Brock's personal assistant, Mandy Vlasz, is a Democratic pollster and a veteran consultant to Democratic campaigns, including the 2000 Gore/Lieberman campaign. Katie Barge, the Director of Research at Media Matters, formerly presided over opposition research for Senator John Edwards' unsuccessful 2004 presidential campaign.
I wonder what the statute of limitations is on (allegedly) illegal lotteries like the “Dinner with Barack” ones that the Obama campaign ran last year. Maybe we should insist that these be acted upon by law enforcement.
That would be the US Congress (opposite of Progress) sponsored by the guy running against the One, signed by a guy who claims to be conservative even though he admitted it was unconstitutional, and upheld in SCOTUS by Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Klinton appointees. :-(
“Obama campaigns Chicago-style thug effort to shut down the independent ad on Bill Ayers is part of the larger effort to intimidate conservative donors and curtail the free speech”
Ironic:
The same ‘free speech’ that allows his good buddy, Bill Ayers, to trample on the American flag.
Of course, in the Peoples Republic of Obama — all pigs will have equal rights.
Some pigs will just have more equal rights than others.
STE=Q
I'm waiting for Obama to try his Chicago plan. By which he will try to disqualify every person planning to vote for McCain the same thing he did to his political opponents in Chicago.
While he’s at it he can ask when the Just. Dept. is going to prosecute Ayers and hilary, they owe us big time.
The truth hurts and when the truth about them is exposed they go nuts which means it’s true to begin with.
An irony that seems to be beyond the Left’s ability to grasp, alas.
What's interesting is to compare that with what we see from Muslims around the world.
