Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain may announce his choice for a running mate earlier than expected, sources told FOX News on Monday.
McCain had previously said he would announce his vice presidential pick on Friday and would appear with that individual at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, following the announcement. Friday is McCains 72nd birthday.
But sources close to McCains campaign told FOX News that his decision may come sooner than that possibly on Thursday, when Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination at Invesco field in Denver, Colo.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds diminished the news.
I wouldnt much weight into reports that there are windows of possibility, he said.
Several names have come up repeatedly as McCains possible running mate, including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge and, perhaps, Democrat-turned-independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Also named is Gen. David Petraeus, the incoming head of Central Command.

wow people are so in the bag for Mccain, unless my search-fu is bad, I know its HARD to search of things on FR. I did a search for an article where daddy yankee endorses Mccain. I guess no one bothered to post it. Can you believe this crap PawPaw McSame believes this will help him out in the Latino community. He pretty much has that wrapped up with his amnesty stance. He needs to work on bringing conservatives to(wont work for me) him. Pawpaw Mcsame is just delusional.
Check her out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Over Two Decades of Public Service:
On January 3, 2007, Governor M. Jodi Rell was sworn in for her own term as Governor of the great State of Connecticut. She is the states 87th Governor and the first-ever woman Republican Governor of Connecticut.
Governor Rell has held elected office in Connecticut for more than two decades. She holds the states highest office after serving as the 105th Lieutenant Governor for over nine years. Governor Rell also represented the 107th House
District of Brookfield in the state House of Representatives where she held key leadership posts, including Deputy
House Minority Leader and Assistant House Minority Leader.
So we throw away a pro-life, pro-Israel, pro-gun candidate becaue he speaks in cliches?
This is the bottom of the ninth guys. We are either going to start putting aside some petty differences and look at the big picture, or we will lose this game - except it isn’t a game. It is the future of the country.
Folks may not like Romney or Huck. Fine. But at least try not to tear them down. Remember the Reagan doctrine of not saying anything ill willed about a fellow Republicah. There was a reason for that.
“Carly Fiorina.”
No political experience.
Did a lousy job for HP.
Ugly as a turd.
Well, Dick Morris just told the Friends that McCain reallllly wants Joe L., will probably pick Mitt and be unhappy about it, but the winning pick would be Kay BH.
here here
“I agree, but I also think it would be tacky to announce during the Dem Convention.”
It also might backfire if people don’t pay as much attention to the announcement as they would otherwise or if people get turned off by the gamesmanship of the timing.
“I guess you dont remember Gen. Eisenhower a two term President”
Dwight also had incredible name recognition and was the most popular military figure in the most popular war in our history. He could have won with his hands tied behind his back. You can’t really compare the two. Most American’s couldn’t tell you a thing about Petraeus. I still think it would be a very risky pick.
Dick don’t know dick.
“Remember that it took a Carter to get a Reagan”
That was before McCain-Feingold.
Because of CFR, we will never again have another Reagan get far enough along in the primaries to make a dent.
Repeal CFR, then we have a chance.
ROFL!!
You owe me a keyboard!
That would be PRICELESS!
Kasich supported the assault weapons ban after he said he would oppose it. NO THANK YOU!
I like the idea of announcing on Thursday, it will force the pundits to talk about it and detract from the Chosen One’s Big day.
Hmm, it sounds like he wants this in place before appearing in Ohio.
My fantasy: Blackwell
Kasich would be great, too. I hadn’t though of him.
