We all know Biden is a joke as a VP selection. But there must be a reason he was selected. Here's my take on it. Hold on to your tin-foil hats for just a little longer:
Al-quaida is very much into symbolism. They picked September 11 to symbolize 9-1-1, the national emergency phone number.
The symbolism of an Obama-Biden ticket being so close in spelling to o-b-l would have Al-quaida fans jumping in the streets should bho win this election. They are probably already convinced that o-b-l is running for POTUS in spirit.
There are some moles in the Obama camp that are snickering wickedly.
Chicago boys picked him ( Daleys).
I can't find anything about it on the web but I'm very sure about it.

Biden was picked because he has “gravitas”, whereas Osbama is the weakest candidate in decades.
Biden was picked to be the attack dog.

Forgive my spelling of that little Mexican dog. I haven’t learned written or spoken Spanish yet. I know some of the dirty words, but this is a genteel forum...so far.
Biden is just under Ted Kennedy when it comes to contemptible. He's a brazen, arrogant, far left ideologue. He's the loud mouth jerk at your dinner table. I still remember that condescending grin he used to flash back when he had teeth.
I remember the fights he started over Supreme Court justices. The process of making our people swim a gauntlet of piranhas started with Biden.
