So Much For The Obama Youth Vote

I wonder how all those wild and crazy freedom loving utes that fawn all over Obama would react if they knew some of the pet projects of his new running mate, Joe Biden. Gotta love the portion of Biden's original RAVE Act that said the presence of glow sticks and free water at an event was an indicator that there would be Ecstasy on the premises.

The Drug War is Biden’s pet issue, one he pays close attention to. Senator Biden was one of the original drafters of the legislation that created the Office of National Drug Control Policy, an anti-drug office of the White House.

The Rave Act has the force to stop licensed and law-abiding business owners from hosting events out of fear of massive fines and prison sentences. Shortly after the act became law, a federal agent in Montana used it to shut down a benefit to raise money for Students for Sensible Drug Policy and the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. The DEA agent told managers of the Eagle Lodge in Billings, Montana that the Lodge could be fined $250,000 if anyone smoked marijuana during a planned benefit to raise money for a campaign to pass a medical marijuana law in Montana. The Eagle Lodge canceled the event.

Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) forced the controversial legislation, widely referred to as the "RAVE" Act, through both houses of Congress as an attachment to an unrelated child abduction - AMBER Alert bill (S151). The "RAVE" Act had not passed a single committee before being attached to the AMBER Alert bill. In addition, it was so controversial when it was introduced during the 107th Congress that two Senators withdrew their sponsorship.

The law applies to any business owner, including bar owners, motel owners, concert promoters, and cruise ship owners. Because of its broad language, the law could even potentially subject people to twenty years in federal prison if guests smoked marijuana at their party or barbecue.

The Man Behind the Plan The Drug War isn’t a purely Democrat or Republican issue. Members of both parties support punitive policies, perpetuating the stigmatization of drugs and drug users. A Democrat, Senator Joe Biden, introduced the Rave Act in the Senate in 2002. Biden’s RAVE Act was co-sponsored by Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Charles Grassley (R-IA), Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) and Strom Thurmond (R-NC) - with pressure from the Drug Policy Alliance counter-campaign two of the original co-sponsors of the bill, Richard Durbin(D-IL) and Patrick Leahy (D-VT) withdrew their support for the bill because it was too broad and goes too far.

Most young people are stupid. They’ll vote for B. Hussein anyway or just be so strung out on MDMA that they’ll forget to show up.

Bush ought to use the Rave Act to shut down the DNC convention.

I think the general reaction without any acknowledge of Biden’s past “accomplishments” will be why in the f*ck did he pick this old white dude?

I’m looking for Biden to start using some “street talking” and finding himself getting into some real issues with Obama’s following as well as Independents.

Interesting. Obama’s stated he would stop the Justice Department from prosecuting medical marijuana cases. Medical marajuana is going to be an up and coming issue as well.

They can’t do any more commercials about ‘wrinkly old guys’ (but that was doomed to piss off the elderly vote eventually)

Now that would be SWEET.

Wonder if Biden realized one of Obama’s biggest supporters is Congressman Lacy Clay, (D)Missouri, who currently has a bill before Congress of legalize marijuana Nationally? Guess Biden's BLOWviating is going to take on a new meaning with the Obama Possee.

Ha. Biden’s gonna love Denver, where Mayor Hickenlooper has ordered the police not to enforce the state laws against possession of pot!

I’m looking forward to seeing Biden join Kanye West and B-HO’s other hip-hop entourage in a rap onstage in Denver.

You forget that the youth vote and rock and roll industry went gaga for Al Gore Junior even though he held Senate subcommittee investigations into naughty rock lyrics (country and jazz songs were specifically exempted from the investigation) and hardline prosecution of minimum wage record counter clerks who sold stickered albums to minors without checking an ID.

He played on our fears.

The youth vote are idiots. So is the entertainment vote.

It's not just the DNC Convention. The Feds could use this law to raid the Libertarian Convention and put every one of them in the slammer.

All six of them.
