From Jim Geraghty's CampaignSpot blog at National Review:
Soren Dayton, writing over at The Next Right:A very good source is telling me that multiple DNC members have told him that Hillary is the person. While not immediately intuitive, Clinton is the candidate who one can easily imagine helping with Barack Obama's numbers. Which seem to be ... in bad shape? Who else would fundamentally shift the numbers? You could see her bringing Democrats back home, etc., in a way that none of the other candidates could.
By the way, she would probably school most Republican VP candidates in the debates. And she and Bill know how to attack attack attack.
Meanwhile, arriving in my e-mailbox moments ago:
Hillary Clinton will campaign for Senator Barack Obama in Floridas Orange County, Palm Beach County, and Broward County on Thursday, August 21.
In Orange County, Hillary Clinton will meet with officials from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association. Media may cover this event, but it is not open to the public.

If Hillary is picked, the race is over. Perhaps Johnny should have kept the Paris Hilton ad until after the DNC.
Yes, but this campaign has taught her that she cannot count on being nominated--ever. This is her last chance. Plus, she knows that "something" may happen to a Prez Obama in office.
All hell will be let loose from the African-Americans if that happens.
Pray that it does not happen.
Impressive logic. However the logic of DONOR CASH may be more compelling in this case.
But she thought 2008 was a shoo-in. She was wrong, and she isn't getting any younger. THIS may be her only shot. I'd say the likelihood is 55%.
Even choosing Hitlery as VP will hurt him: I have a fool aunt who is (was?) a huge SnObama supporter and stated flat out to me when I asked that if he chose Hitlery for VP, she would then NOT vote for him.
Being POTUS with a Vice President Hillary would be more dangerous than being a Pakistani Presidential bodyguard or #3 man in Al Queda.
LBJ and Kennedy didn’t like each other, AFAIK.
Always thought it would be Hillary for VP.
If he didn’t pick her, she would hold his very campaign in her gnarled hands.... and with just one phrase could destroy him
Hillary has at least four ways to walk back into the White House:
#1: she can oust Obama with a floor vote in Denver (then name Obama as her VP candidate to keep his supporters on her plantation)
#2: she can be McCain's VP
#3: she can be Obama's VP
#4: she can wait until 2012
I pick door # 4.
So “It’s Obama’s Turn to Cry”? It will be interesting.
So how are you doing down there with the polls big fellow?
He can not win without her supporters. Its a pact with the devil.
Kennedy wasn’t married to Michelle .... :-)
“LBJ and Kennedy didnt like each other, AFAIK.”
Gore and the Clintons didn’t like each other, AFAIK.
And, that is why the ‘assassinations’ during their terms, so resemble each other.
Did LBJ or Gore or Hillary plan and execute JFK or Foster?
No. They were smarter than that, and a bit too busy.
They did what they always do, when you are in a position of power.
You just let certain members of organized crime learn they are about to be thrown under the bus.
“#4: she can wait until 2012 “
I pick door # 4.
No kidding. The world ends on that date anyway, so we still won’t have to live with her as President.
Found this on another comment forum.
