Toby Keith: Obama's 'Best Democratic Candidate We've Had Since Bill Clinton' Toby Keith Praises Obama Tuesday, August 19, 2008 By Ryan Pearson, Associated Press
Los Angeles - Barack Obama is getting praise from Nashville, courtesy of one big, patriotic country star.
Toby Keith, perhaps best known to non-country audiences for his post-Sept. 11 song "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," says he's a Democrat, and was impressed by the senator from Illinois.

Haven't heard it because I'm not a big fan of C&W, at least what it's become these days.
Got a link to the lyrics?

"I run into oldschool Democrats everyday who have no idea their party's been taken over by Communists, gays, and traitors. I used to know an old hard working gentleman who happened to be illiterate. In each election he would look for the picture of the donkey and vote straight party Democrat. He said, "The donkey stands for Democrat. Rooooooooooseevelt was a Democrat, that makes me a Democrat."
Rote behavior keeps a lot of the elderly voting Dem every election and it's reinforced by the Democrats successfully convincing them that the GOP wants to take away their social security.

Toby Keith is a good guy, but he has a brain the size of a chestnut.
Then again, when you compare Obi-One to the other Dem candidates since Clinton (Gore, Kerry), Toby may be on to something. It's hard to be worse than those two clowns, though Obi-One is trying.

Celebrities like Keith and Ludacris don't pay attention to news or know whats going on.
They are probably casual watchers.
The last news he watched might have been back in March.

To add another thought to that..
They won’t know he’s going to lose until election day.

Toby is caught up and trying to be popular with people he comes in contact. He needs to have a beer with real people.

“So I thought it was beautiful the other day when Obama went to Afghanistan and got educated about Afghanistan and Iraq. He came back and said some really nice things.
“So as far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it’s really important that those things have to take place. And I think he’s the best Democratic candidate we’ve had since Bill Clinton. And that’s coming from a Democrat.”
Seems like tongue-in-cheek parody.
I don’t believe it.

He must not realize what Obama wants to do regarding his pickup trucks.
To: Sub-Driver
A guy that hawks bigass pickup trucks ought to know a candidate's position on energy issues before he starts singing the guy's praises.

Toby has gone to Iraq to entertain the troops. He has always been a dim. He thinks highly of willie nelson.

He's 'covering his ass' after what he said on Glenn Beck:
During Keith's appearance on the July 30 broadcast of Beck's show, he remarked,
"I think the black people would say he [Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."
"What does that even mean?" the audibly shocked Beck replied.
"Well, I don't know what that means," Keith drawled,
"but I think that that's what they would say.
Even though the black society would pull for him I still think
that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason he is in
[the general election] is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian."
