It's Rudy (more speculation)

So many e-mailers this morning are predicting that the McCain trial balloon is really about Giuliani. I'm not there, but here's one:

I don't think it's being floated for Liebermann or Ridge. I think he's considering Giuliani. - Might put NY in enough play to make Obama spend a lot of money there. - Has name recognition and gets plenty of respect on law enforcement/national security - Might be more palatable to pro-lifers if he were to make clear that it's McCain's pro-life administration The McCain campaign has already hired a Giuliani staffer as the unnamed veep's communications director...

The fact that he’s announcing in OH suggests Rob Portman, a good pick as a person and potential president, not a great pick for media purposes. He might mean a few votes in OH, but not many, as he’s from Cincy.

Rooty, yes,I agree....but at this point why not Romney?
He’s younger, good on economics,a good speaker....I’m no huge Romney fan,but there’s not a lot to go with.I personally would like to see Michael Steele or Newt Gingrich but that isn’t likely to happen.

I like Rick, too...but, I think he as VP would peel off a lot of the independent, middle voters...and McCain HAS to have them to win this.

If McCain is foolish enough to choose a pro-murder VP, then he deserves to lose this election.

Many pro-life conservatives are virtually single issue voters, and McCain would look like the ultimate hypocrite to tell America that life begins at conception and then pick a VP who disagrees and cares nothing for the weakest and most helpless among us.

I pray God gives him the wisdom to pick the right VP.

Rush just asked--how about Rick Santorum!

It's tough picking someone who got voted out of office. Be nice to pick someone with a winning record. Plus, he doesn't seem like executive material to me. Are there really no qualified conservative GOP governors with a winning record and executive experience? I mean one who is not a flip-flopper from Taxachusetts who follows a strange religion that turns people off?

Frankly, at this point, the only choice I can see McCain making, that makes me stay home, is Loserman... Else, vote for McCain, and spend the next couple of years working towards his defeat...

H is THAT dangerous

“Rooty, yes,I agree....but at this point why not Romney?”

BOTH of them are anti-gun, pro-abortion, and pro-queer!

What the hell part of that can’t the Rockey-feller wing understand?

John Engler, 12 year governor of Michigan when the economy was booming. Pro-life, pro-gun, takes no prisoners on taxes and spending.

SE Mom, did you see that Joel Hunter, pastor of Northland in Longwood, is giving the closing prayer at the DN convention?

There will be no true believers there before long.

See post #3 on this thread, for an example of what I'm referring to. Imagine eight years of that kind of petty little sniping from fellow Republicans. Ugh.

What ever happened to him? Why doesn’t his name ever come up? Michigan is a battleground state. He’s got a good resume. He’s a winner. There must be a skeleton in his closet?

After he term limited out he went back into the business world and hasn't been involved in politics.

A very very good Governor and businessman. The RATS hate him more than they do President Bush.

Agreed-but would probably hurt in typically red states. Having grown up in Joisey, I love Rudy. The Socons would have a revolt though.
