The recent headlines about the legalization of gay marriage in California and the efforts to reverse that decision have left me dismayed. I may be in the minority among my fellow Christians, but I find myself increasingly ashamed by the words and actions of the leaders of the religious right.
Why are so many squandering precious time in an attempt to outlaw gay marriage? We could be putting our efforts for God to much better use!
There are far more pressing issues the world is facing today. It should not be the priority of so many to prevent two men from calling themselves “husband and husband” rather than “partners.” Those who find homosexuality offensive to their sensibilities cannot prohibit gay relationships altogether. Seeing photos of Britney Spears without her underwear on is offensive to my sensibilities, but it seems to have sparked a trend rather than triggered legal action.

Because of this, we as Christians cannot stop it if what we are concentrating on is the symptom and not the root cause. We must go after the root cause of this sinfulness and attack that.
We all know, liberals and conservatives alike, that homosexuals have nothing but contempt for marriage (meaning a union between a loving man and loving woman). I repeat “nothing but contempt.” If they did NOT have contempt, they’d be getting mental and spiritual help to come out of the disgusting and dangerous life-style that they’re in.
However, if they can put their finger in our married people’s eyes and get away with spitting on the family unit, they’ll insist that they want to be MARRIED. Hey, they’re just like us . . . only a little different (see them kissing and holding hands on the newscasts? Huh?) That’s all they do, right?
They know damned well that they can draw up any contract guaranteeing to take care of someone else and not have to crap all over the sanctity of marriage, but that won’t get Ellen Degenerate’s sick life style approval, now will it?
Marriage to them is a direct attack on their sordid lifestyles, so why not denigrate it to a nothingness complete with no moral equivalence, and laugh at everything that is good and holy.
I repeat, they have nothing but CONTEMPT for marriage and if they can get away with the RIM’s stupidity and non-judgmental attitude, then they win. We lose. May God have mercy on them.

The writer seems to prove there is such a thing as homosexual marriage. Why? Because some legislative body says so?
Marriage is definitively about mating, which is definitivfely between the two sexes (see Biology 101).
This doesn’t stop delusional people from delusions — but I hope it still helps some, to tell the obvious truth.
The very nanosecond gay marriage is made the law in any state the government school gay cheerleaders **will** introduce homosexuality in some fashion throughout most or all of their course material. There will be homosexual writers, novels, biographies, and plays studied in English. In history, there will not be a single historical figure whose homo or heterosexuality is not thoroughly dissected. Science will discuss the sexuality of the early discoverers and inventors. And...Of course, homosexuality will be a many focus of health education and gym.
This indoctrination will start in kindergarten. The government school defenders and gay cheerleaders will claim ( as in Massachusetts) that since it is the law it is their responsibility to include all areas of diversity.

Holly,First, those who realize that homosexuality is an early death sentence for its practitioners have an obligation. They must tell these poor people that they are killing themselves. Those who oppose homosexuality and tell them why are far more caring than those who tell them to continue doing the very thing that robs them of years of life.
Second, the reason for the elevated status of marriage is because it is the basic building block of society. It is procreative, and the children produced by it form the next generation. It is entirely reasonable for the state to grant special status and benefits to the institution that has procreative potential. Obviously, homosexual marriage will never have that potential.
One has to realize that procreative potential is so unique that it is necessary to have a word to describe the institution that contains it. That word is "marriage."
If the word is doublespeaked to include homosexuals because of the mistaken view that marriage is about orgasmic release or about legal inheritance or some other misguided view of marriage, then it will not be too long before society comes up with some new expression to describe that unique heterosexual institutional bonding within which procreative potential is contained.
Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

Homosexuals have the EXACT SAME marriage rights as the rest of us — they are free to marry ANY person of the opposite sex who is unmarried and of legal age to marry.
Real Christians don’t “waste” their time.
That we have lost the semi-naked-drug-addict-in-public-war does not mean that we stop fighting wars not yet lost. Our culture now celebrates sin of all sorts. I'm not going to add another one to the list of sin-celebrations without a battle. I would remind the author of the last chapter of Romans 1. It's a pretty good description of modern America.
They don’t get it, marriage is between a man and a woman. What transpires between members of the same sex is something else.
Absolutely true.
However, heterosexual marriage is NEEDED by society. It is the best place to raise children. And children are best cared for by their very own nurturing, biological parents.
