‘Days go by very slow’ (for illegal aliens)(BARF ALERT)
Chattanooga Times Free Press ^ | August 17, 2008 | Perla Treviso

When Felicita Bautista prepared her husband’s coffee and kissed him goodbye on the morning of April 16, she thought she’d hear from him at lunchtime when he usually called.

Instead, the phone rang at 8 a.m. Ms. Bautista’s husband, José Ramírez, told her immigration agents had raided the Pilgrim’s Pride chicken processing plant in downtown Chattanooga and that he had been arrested.

“At first I didn’t believe him, I thought it was a joke, but he assured me it was true,” the 28-year-old Guatemala native said.

Ms. Bautista’s husband, who had been in the United States illegally for five years and previously was deported in 2003, was among the 100 workers arrested in Chattanooga.

The couple now speak several times a day. Mr. Ramírez said the calls help him get through tedious days at the Bradley County Jail.

“The days go by very slow,” Mr. Ramírez said in a telephone interview from the jail. “It’s frustrating being separated from my family and not knowing when I will see them again. I’m only waiting for the moment when we’ll be together again.”

Mr. Ramírez is charged with re-entering the country illegally, a crime that could carry up to two years in prison, including the time he has served, before he is deported, said his appointed defense attorney Anthony Martínez. Mr. Ramírez is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 9.

To keep himself busy, Mr. Ramírez has learned to draw and periodically sends his wife and their 2-year-old son, Luís, drawings of religious figures and representations of himself and the jail.

“I want them to feel happy,” he said.

Ms. Bautista said she is working overtime — as many as 19 hours a day — since the arrest.

“Sometimes I work from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. because what I earn is not enough,” she said. “I have to pay the bills, buy my son diapers. I also have to send money back to my parents in Guatemala. It’s just not enough.”

Ms. Bautista had to find a roommate to share her $700 monthly rent. She spends another $200 per month on telephone calls from her husband and sends whatever money she has left to her husband so he can buy food and hygiene products in jail.

In Ms. Bautista’s Oak Grove home, a “God Bless America” beach towel, decorated with pictures of the Twin Towers and the Statue of Liberty, hangs on the wall.

THE STORY SO FAR

On April 16, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 311 foreign nationals working at Pilgrim’s Pride sites in five states. That number included 100 first-shift workers in Chattanooga, the majority of them Guatemalans.

Arrests also occurred in Mount Pleasant, Texas; Live Oak, Fla.; Batesville, Ark.; and Moorefield, W.Va.

Of those arrested in all states, 91 were charged with criminal violations, five of them in Chattanooga, including false use of a Social Security number, document fraud and re-entering the country illegally.

Of the 100 arrested in Chattanooga, 36, mainly primary caregivers of a children, were released with a monitoring ankle bracelet.

He'd already been deported once! Ms. Bautista should be sent a bill for the cost of deporting him twice.

Why are people so surprised when they are punished for INTENTIONALLY BREAKING THE LAW?

You mess with the bull, you get the horns!

“DON’T BUY PILGRIMS PRIDE OR TYSON CHICKEN!!!!”

I won’t buy either unless they come up with a very public and sincere mea culpa.

Maybe she could steal a few more identities and SS nos---and collect US benefits under a couple more fake names?

My questions after reading the article...

1.Doesn’t the prison provide 3 meals a day?
2.Doesn’t their religion teach them not to lie, cheat or steal?
3.Is this woman legal?

“Most of these sob stories seem to mention the purchase of expensive diapers....Which end up (after being used) tossed out of the car on the side of the road, or in the park, or in the playground.”

No kidding! There are an awful lot of Mexicans in Northern Illinois (in fact, Mexican politicians come up to campaign for their races in Mexico!) and the trash and soiled Pampers they leave behind when they leave a public park, just lying about, is something you need to see to believe.

Just sent the author this email:

I’m sure you think you’re helping things along, but all you are doing is adding fuel to the fire surrounding the illegal alien invaders. They are here ILLEGALLY, having broken our laws in even coming across our borders. Are we then supposed to forget that simple fact and feel sorry for them when they are finally arrested? Especially when MANY of them steal the identity of others in order to pursue their nefarious schemes? I hardly think so.

And I am especially enraged by the illegal invaders and their enablers because my wife is an immigrant and we had to jump through every hoop there is in order to get her green card. And the likes of YOU want to let these criminal invaders come into this country and jump to the head of the immigration line? LIKE HELL!

There are plenty of reports of gang violence south of the border. According to this Daily Telegraph Article:
Since January, more than 1,300 people have been killed in execution-style hits or gunned down in fire fights, which often rage for hours in broad daylight and turn residential neighbourhoods into war zones. If the trend continues, 2008 will top last year's toll of 2,500 deaths in drug-related killings.
You don't hear so much about Americans at the Border. Too bad.

Americans are regularly abused. According to this article entitled US Warns Tourists of 'Small-Unit Combat' at Mexico Border -- Murder and kidnapping of Americans has become routine all along the US Mexican border. According to the State Department sometimes heavily armed attackers wear the uniforms of the Mexican police or military. According to Mexicans their military has even become part of the problem.

If there is silence about events at the border. The silence about killings north of the border is deafening. And yet....

More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says Think about it. A man or woman killed in Iraq or Iran in the line of duty is a hero. But what is an American killed at home by an illegal alien because the government has failed in its sworn duty to guard the borders. This is a pact between the sovereign and the person has paid taxes and loyalty. The answer is to that question is pretty awful. And it bodes ill for the republic.

But is it true?

Yes, according Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa.When you start digging into the numbers the only ones that can be sourced with the feds are the number of American murdered in 2005: 16692
I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.

Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%

Pictures of top 10 most wanted in LA. Up until recent stories about crime in LA posted by the LA Times--the pictures included the nationality of the murderers. They were all foreign nationals and mostly Mexican.

Wanted for Murder in New York City.

Chicago wanted for Murder

Philadelphia wanted for murder

San Francisco wanted for Murder

New Orleans wanted for Murder

Pictures of suspects wanted for murder in Washington DC

FBI USA 10 most wanted. (two of 10 are Mexican nationals) Around 40% of the FBI's wanted for murder are Mexican Nationals

There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. He said further that most of illegals in the federal prisons were in for drug related charges. Most of the illegals in jail for murder were in the state prisons. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.

Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans--but by no means all -- being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article. Also this article from the LA Times. And here. This makes intuitive sense. We see stories regularly of drug gang killings in Mexico but we don't see those same stories in the USA. The reason we don't see those stories is not because its not happening. Rather we don't see the stories about illegals killing blacks because that kind of story is terribly politically incorrect. The populations being displaced in downtown sanctuary cities especially are American blacks. That means that their criminal elements would be pushed aside by Mexican gangs as well. That's also the story that the wanted for murder posters in all the major cities seems to suggest.

Why isn't there an outcry in the black community? Beats me.

Nevertheless, the pattern of non reporting is starting to break. Discovery Channel has a series called Gangland that mentions ethnic cleasing of blacks by Mexican gangs. One woman in San Francisco who had her family killed by an illegal is even demanding the city to drop its sanctuary city status.

Reported Foreign Nationals on Death Row in the U.S.

To look at other USA cities go here http://stlouis.fbi.gov/ and replace stlouis with the city you want.

All that said the true number of criminal aliens is far higher than is revealed by criminal aliens in prisons. Most are simply waived through the courts.DHS Secretary Chertoff, has been quoted as warning that two million people in this country illegally have committed serious crimes. If you check the links you'll notice that its McCain who cites Chertoff. See also here and here Here is more info from Judicial Watch.

However the number of illegals on death row is far lower. Sadly, so many small towns and villages across America have sent their warriors off to war half way across the world only to see communities fill up with illegal aliens.

I’ve searched looked for articles on Perdue Farms with regard to illegals, they say their workforce is 1/3 hispanic. There is definately something to it, though not on the level of Tyson and Pilgim’s Pride.

Where can we get chicken that does not support illegal labor??

I don’t understand why the media has so much more sympathy for illegals who are caught than for other criminals. I mean why don’t we hear sob stories about the family of every mugger caught?

Easy, waive the appeals, hearings, etc, and ask to be sent home immediately.

I don’t think you are starting trouble at all. I would love to know where I could go to get products and not support illegal behavior. And yes I will pay more.
