My dear friend,
I hope God will bless Georgia and all People who lives there - Georgians and other nations.
We are tired to live under Russia's pressure. They didn't change. Their mentality still is communist, fascist mentality. They didn't change even the hymn - it is the same as it was in Soviet Union.
Georgia is the part of Europe. We have the right to live like all other Europe ( not Russia) lives.
It is strange, that all other world can't press Russia to move back. It seems, that Russia is more stronger, that all civilized world?
Today it is my country. Tomorrow on Georgia's place will be the other country. The day after tomorrow will be only one big country - Russia. So Russia must be stopped today.
Thank you for your care and Love I love you too. Please ask for your friends to prey for my country.
I am afraid of future. I am afraid even of tomorrow. I think, they will change all my country again and I DON"T WANT to live again in communist country. I am human, educated human!
It is so simple. Why no one country or all of them together can't do anything? Or it is the big game and America just "lost" Georgia to Russia?
I am tired and have no desire to return back in the past. That was terrible. Georgians DESERVE the better future. I know, that you believe and wish us the better future.
But Russian tanks are everywhere, they divide Georgia into two parts. My father is in West Georgia and we are here. It is not normal. I'd like to hope, my son will live in better Georgia. Please, pray for us.
How heartbreaking to read that email... Prayers for your friend, and all Georgians (as well as anyone else who may be going up against Russia in the near future).
prayers for Georgia & for your friend
I believe that the US will not let Georgia down, and although the cease-fire signed today is not what we want, it will edn up being best for Georgian interests over all. It does give the best hope that the Russians will at least pull back into the other provinces now and allow the US to get a lot of military people and material into Georgia for humanitarian purposes...and also to serve as a shield against the Russians.
Marmema, you tell your friends that...and also send them this picture of President Bush and let them know he has changed his opinion of the tyrant Putin and that this picture now represents his attitude.
Let them know our thoughts, prayers, and actions are with and for them.
God bless, and save, the Georgians.
It is interesting to note the reference to Georgia as being an “East/West”-divided country. I also notice that your friend hasn’t bought into any of the starry-eyed, utopian pacifist drivel from so many Westerners about a “peaceful, democratic Russia”.
The Soviets are the enemies of freedom, and that has always been the truth.
“It is strange, that all other world can’t press Russia to move back. It seems, that Russia is more stronger, that all civilized world?”
So it seems my friend and I am crying for you and your son.
Prayers to you and all of Georgia.
This poor soul yearning to be free, that’s all just free and we will try and help, but it will take more of europe to get Putins attention
Sad, pathetic unfolding here. Hope more American citizens will stop worrying about the price of gasoline and wake up to the very harsh realities unfolding here.
Where’s Europe when Russia seeps into her eastern edge? Why is it only our problem to take on all of Russia? I am all for intervention, all for Iraq and etc., all for flexing our muscles. But if we send troops to every hotspot and no one else does, it is wishful thinking...
Oh I think Europe is right with us on this one. All the way.
The Baltics, France and even now Germany. Poland and Ukraine.
You betcha Europe is watching, and the Russian news is very disheartening.
Another good reason, beyond any of McCain’s ‘negatives’ to make sure he wins; and that Obama - or Hillary - do not. He is not an enemy of Freedom; he is not a friend to tyranny.
Thank you for this lovely flag on the thread. I just ordered one myself from Amazon and am considering flying it from my patio.
I could not agree more. We cannot have Obama now, not when Russia is about to go for taking over Europe.
From their actions, it's apparent that Ukraine, Poland and the Baltics recognize the threat. It's to their sovereignty, of course. As they're willing to act, they deserve our support.
The rest of Europe, though, is either cowering or somnolent. But that's their nature.
Yes, it is very disheartening, definitely. Europe always watches, NEVER seems to get it. Then they call us, their big brother who will ‘beat you up,’ but whom they hate.
You should thank Mr. Saakashvili for starting the war in his own country. How could this coward be the commander-in-chief of your proud nation?

I know a lot of Georgians who are plain ashamed of him.
Europe may be watching, but Europe willing/able to do much more is not in the cards.
Jittery nerves in Paris, Berlin & London IMO. And they should be jittery if they can project what might be coming down the pike.
I know a few myself. That has no bearing on the fact that Russia invaded them and needs to go home.
And so has much of the free world in sending AID to Georgia.
