Case in point - man in Lexington KY dared to question the homosexual agenda indoctrination in his kindergartner’s classroom,

Good point.I've never bashed an atheist, nor any religion other than mine.

It is the nutjobs of all religions and anti-religions that I can't stand.
Their insanity is simply unacceptable when it becomes mindless intrusive activism, serving no purpose other than their own ego.

I guess it’s whatever their “reason” and “intellect” tell them is right in any particular situation, ie, situational ethics.

After all, there is no objective standard since there is no objective source.

sowell calls the collective knowledge of people the ‘wisdom of the ages’ - i’d like to see a comparison of the success and achievements of countries centered around different religions and atheism - seems we have done well historically - maybe we should stick with it

I have something that I often say -

in order to be a leftist, you not only have to believe that you are wiser than anyone who ever lived
(rejecting traditional values, endorsing socialism which has never worked because you think you can do it right)

you have to believe yourself wiser than God Himself
(rejection of Biblical truth)

This applies to atheists as well.

i have always wanted an atheist to explain the basis for their morality - the only thing i can come up with is the law - which i thought needed some kinda basis also (laws)

I’ve read a lot of Sowell, including Vision of the Anointed, though Conflict of Visions was a better intro to the thought processes.

All decisions and viewpoints are a function of your presuppositions, and they can be pretty much divided by the two starting points of

“In the beginning, God”
and
“In the beginning, nothing”

CS Lewis, in Mere Christianity, discusses the common morality, sense of justice, and the need to worship inherent in us created beings.

My take:
Atheists are inherently arrogant, and assume that their intellect is the source of this inherent sense of morality and justice, and their need to worship is satisfied in worshiping themselves or the state.

i wholehearted agree with that statement - and see the evidence in the way the atheist looks to government to fulfill that need (or shopping - or sex - or science - or anything except a religion)
