From AP following occurred sometime Wednesday.

Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Zurab Gvenetadze said that Russian forces seized a military base on the outskirts of Gori, situated on Georgia's only significant east-west road.

Perhaps that is why the civilians did not see much. Tanks are in military base. Looks like the Russians are gonna link up the western forces with the main central thrust. They just completely cleared Georgian forces from the Western Autonomous region.

Hmmmmm.....

A witness in Gori, 25 km (15 miles) south of the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali, told Reuters he could not see any Russian tanks.

"I've been all over town. No tanks. No Russians," said the witness, who asked not to be named. "People are confused and edgy, panicking easily," he said.

A Sky News team has been robbed at gunpoint on the outskirts of the Georgian city of Gori by men thought to be South Ossetian separatist militia.

....

Sky News correspondent Jason Farrell confirmed he had seen tanks on the streets in Gori, which has suffered extensively from Russian bombing raids.

He said he had seen them patrolling the streets and that a team of Norwegian journalists had been robbed in the centre of the town.

"It's the same scenes as we were seeing at the beginning of the conflict. As far as the people here are concerned, the politicians may be talking about peace but there's really no sign of it here."

It ain't over...

Yes it IS! it is TOO!

WE KNOW it's over because the Messiah, the Compassionate, the Merciful Lord Obama TOLD the Russians to just stop it, and they took his advice. And we know THAT's true because Tim " caterpillar eyebrows, I wanna be VEEP" Kaine said so.

So stop being a meanie and saying it's not over.

Oh, excuse me, It's time for my medication.

BBC now confirming it....

Violence has flared up in Georgia, where Russian tanks have been seen patrolling the city of Gori, says the BBC’s Gavin Hewitt near the scene.”

In Gori, the Russian tanks seem to be dismantling and destroying Georgian army bases there, our correspondent says.

There is a pall of smoke over Gori’s market. Terrified residents have watched their houses being torched.

The situation may well be worse in outlying villages, he adds.

Getting out of control !

Abkhazian fighters plant flag inside Georgia

GANMUKHURI, Georgia (AP) — An AP reporter says a few dozen fighters from the separatist region of Abkhazia have moved into Georgian territory, planting their flag on a bridge over the Inguri River.

"This is Abkhazian land," one proclaimed. They say they are laying claim to what has historically been Abkhazian territory and that Georgian troops left without challenging them.

NATO is running late. We need to put on the blue helmets and step in NOW while there is a cease fire.

This is friggen stupid...

We should be annihilating the russian forces that remain in Georgia. They need to pull out NOW, or be wiped out by American Forces.

Im thinking we also need to take steps to exterminate the people behind this.

Maybe after listening to all the pundits, they’ve decided that there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them.

” An Associated Press reporter has seen a convoy of several dozen Russian military trucks and armored vehicles heading out of a key city deeper into Georgia. “

The “reporter outside the city of Gori saw the convoy speeding past and heading south. And Georgia’s Security Council chief says Russians bombed and looted Gori on Wednesday.”
