First Congressional District candidate Joel Haugen (R-Scappoose), who is battling Republican officials in that district, called support from Oregon Republican Party officials a farce after they refused to rectify a situation where local county officials would not support his candidacy.
ORGOP's help is likely to be of the order of holding our jewelry while we get water boarded, Haugen said in an email to PolitickerOR.com sent from Minnesota, where he was attending a wedding.
Haugens anger comes after Republican Party Chairman Vance Day issued a letter saying that ORGOP would support Haugen no matter who he has endorsed in the primary.
The Republican nominee has come under fire from District 1 Republican officials for his endorsements of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and U.S Senate candidate Jeff Merkley.

How did this guy get nominated? As I recall the last senate candidate against Ron Wyden was also a LITERAL RINO. Ie not a Republican, a far-left Obama (or in his case Kerry) lover.
Same thing with the Senate nominee in Montana. A GREEN party guy.
State GOPs need to the power to kick non-Republicans off the ballot.
He's trying to get a third party ballot line as well. Here's to hoping the courts rule against him and he chooses to relinquish the GOP nomination in favor of the "Oregon Independent Party".
I didn’t hear about this at the time he was nominated.
I just threw up a little in my mouth.
I hope the Democrat wins, because this sick scumbag Haugen must lose.
If the GOP gives this pantload Haugen so much as one thin dime, my checkbook will remain even more closed than it already is as far as contributing to the RNC goes.
He has no chance of winning. Why he hasn’t been stripped of his nomination if he’s openly endorsing rodent candidates is nothing short of bizarre.
Do they have the power to take away the nomination? I thought no.
I’d imagine it varies from state to state. I don’t know what the specific policies for the OR GOP are, but this surely should be grounds.

Not in Oregon.
Candidates are selected in state run primaries.
The party ought to demand the right to select a replacement candidate on the grounds of fraud on the part of the ex-nominee.
