‘Imagine if every child in the country channelled their Pester Power in service of the Glorious Green Future.’
So says James Russell in his recent book How to Turn Your Parents Green. And he’s far from alone in his musings. npower, a large British electriciy supplier, have also been evisaging a world in which kids, renamed Climate Cops, are instructed to ferret out ‘climate crimes’ in their homes, schools and cities and report them to the authorities, that is, in Russell’s words, to ‘nag, pester, bug, torment and punish the people who are merrily wrecking [their] world’, fining ‘transgressors’ for non-compliance with green orthodoxy.
This is no idle dream. Greens seem determined to convert the nation’s children into environmentalist versions of Mao’s Red Guards, the blindly-revolutionary youths who spearheaded China’s disastrous Cultural Revolution.
In his book, Russell tries to stir up hatred against ‘Groans’ (grown-ups) and their wasteful ways, and encourages children to become ‘Guardians of the Glorious Green Future’, nagging until their parents sign a ‘Glorious Green Charter’.
This Charter affirms parents’ desire to avoid kids being ‘subjected to the perils of a new Ice Age’ or being ‘forced to evolve into aquatic organisms in order to contend with rising sea levels’, and concedes that their ‘brilliant children understand way more about this so-called Global Warming nonsense than I do’, empowering them to patrol the house looking for climate crimes and to levy fines for non-compliance with the rules laid down in the book. Kids are also instructed on how to seize their school councils to create ‘Eco Teams’ and lobby local government as green citizens (1).

I just signed for a new hybrid gas / electric HVAC. The numbers penciled. I'm throwing out the 2 year old inefficient furnace in the home I just bought. The energy savings will give me payback in 7 years, 18% IRR, and +$8K NPV.
Forget the pestering, kids. Sharpen your pencils.

Use the "green" crap to teach them what "green tax" will do to their paychecks when they get real jobs.
Common Parents, if you have a little "Greeniac" in the making, hit them with a little reality upside the head.
Look at the riots and bombings caused in the 1960s and 1970s by the Red diaper doper babies who were indoctrinated in radical socialist political ideology.
No “vidia games”, computer playtime, texting, or staying in all afternoon watching tv. Wastes energy. We have to conserve. “Can’t go on living as we have”. So say the Obameth.
Society needs to stop taking these obviously-disturbed ‘60s leftovers seriously, and get back to living in the 21st century.
Your hybrid will not save you anything, nor the environment. The environmental damage that thing causes just to build it is 10 times that of a regular little MPG puddle jumper, 3 times that of a full grown Humvie. Plus it will give you 1/3 of the service life, if the battery lasts that long.
If your furnace is only 2 years old it's already fairly efficient. Sure, there are some with complicated ventilation/ environmental control systems build on, but they actually end up costing you more in electricity costs to operate all those gadgets.
You'd be much further ahead, and save more money simply by just by sealing up and insulating your house better. No matter how efficient your furnace is, it will not compensate for a drafty, poorly insulated house.
Besides, CO2 is not a pollutant, and does not cause global warming. If gas is too expensive, burn wood.

Send them out to cut the grass with a hand powered reel mower.
Shovel the driveway by hand, no snow blower. Walk don’t drive in a warm car. (Only when THEY want to go anywhere of course)
And what’s with that school bus just to take them 5 blocks to school? Ban school buses in towns and cities. No need for them.
We never had them when I was a kid, and there wasn’t even any “global warming”. Just a pending Ice age.
Their concerts cause horrific amounts of pollution, thousands of kids using gas just to get to the concert hall, buying their propaganda tree's died for, all those chemicals their plastic cd's and jewel cases are made from, and the synthetic fabrics they promote for kids to buy.
Those synthetic fabrics and dyes are made in china, the chemical pollution from them fills rivers killing all life in them.
They want green, lets give them green damn it!
My niece just got a teaching job for 1st and preschool aged children teaching....wait for it.....environmentalism, activism and global warming risks. Preschoolers?!?!?
Bingo! lights off at dusk,no internet,walk to school,turn down the heat to barely comfortable,no plastic toys or cd's(they use oil) no more batteries for games ect.

Get your kid a hand cranked radio (like are sold for emergency purposes).
Could be worse. She could be teaching them about alternate sexual identities, same sex attraction, polymory, crossdressing, a society’s “wrongheaded” notion of “sex roles”.
