Appeals court upholds CIA leak lawsuit dismissal Tue Aug 12, 2008 12:01pm EDT

By Andy Sullivan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday dismissed former CIA analyst Valerie Plame's lawsuit against Vice President Dick Cheney and several former Bush administration officials for disclosing her identity to the public.

The Court of Appeals in Washington dealt another setback to the former spy, who has said her career was destroyed when officials blew her cover in 2003 to retaliate against her husband, Iraq war critic Joseph Wilson.

When are we going to see arrests for leaking CIA ops to New York Times? When are we going to see firings for politicizing CIA?

Valerie Plame was repaid with an early retirement and Joe Wilson got a book deal. Imagine if this scenario had occurred in Russia. Balerina Plamenco would have been transferred to an outpost in Siberia and Josef Wilsonofavich would have been given complimentary tea that glows in the dark.

20,0000 front page newspapers articles on the Plame story, and the court found the case had no merit. Not counting the other 20,000 front page stories about Joe Wilson’s ‘investigation’ which ‘proved’ Iraq was not seeking yellow cake, well until we found it a huge stockpile of it.

OK, now can we prosecute Joe and Valerie for treason?

Her whole story and suit was bogus.

She sat at a desk in Langley for so long that the law that covers covert operators does not apply to her. She was a desk jockey, not a covert operator.

She should be charged the amount of cash that has been expended in tax payers money in both court time and in defense costs.

This self-serving bimbo needs to be told to shut up and deflate her ego to normal proportions.

In an age when most people loved this country, we probably could. But now since the country is split, it wouldn't go anywhere.

NUTS!!! I was hoping this would go forward. The Judge is an idiot, though.

Government employees who engage in questionable acts, such as abusing prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay facility ...... cannot be held individually liable if they are carrying out official duties, the court said.

Oh, so Ex-PV1 England was wrongly prosecuted for her actions in Abu Ghraib? Nitwit judges...I'll bet this goof was a Clinton pick.

“...who has said her career was destroyed when officials blew her cover in 2003 to retaliate against her husband.”

The left just keeps repeating this lie until they hope it is considered the truth. The only reason her name was brought up is someone asked why an anti-war liberal like Joe Wilson was sent to investigate the yellow cake claim, and the reply was that his wife worked at the CIA and she nominated him for the job. It was a legitimate question, and it discredited Joe Wilson as a liberal anti-war partisan who was sent because of his ties to the CIA—not as an objective person with the right qualifications.

The CIA is full of liberals who wanted the claim to be wrong and that is why they sent Joe Wilson, at his wife's recommendation. His wife is also a liberal, so the real crime here is the CIA was not doing its job properly and was playing politics.

Plame’s career has nothing to do with undercover work, and thus her career was not ruined by identifying her as the one who recommended her husband.

Note that the blurb takes the DNC line without mention of Richard Armitage.

From the brief article it appears that dumb-ass judges accepted too much of the Plamegate propaganda — why not say that Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage is known to have ‘leaked’ the Plame name, so the other parties named in the suit are irrelevant; dismiss them from consideration. Now in the Armitage case, state that the Deputy SECY. of State Armitage was trying to explain to a reporter why a dim bozo like Joe Wilson was sent on a sensitive mission for which he had no evident qualifications, and his CIA (not covert) wife was the only and obvious explanation!!

OK, from a legal standpoint I suppose it is necessary to focus upon govt. officials in the course of duties, etc. but now they have created a blanket exemption that’s so broad that it would seem to allow Abu Ghraib perps to do anything, etc. THAT could well be the basis of appeal to the SCOTUS??

The whole affair was an attempt to manufacture a scandal where the DNC could find none.

How many convictions in the 8 years of the “bent one”?
