Prince George running off to China and not standing and fighting with the house Republicans by calling congress back into session and ...

I'm holding fire on this - I'm remembering that this Texas cowboy plays a mean hand of poker.

He stated he wanted them to go back home and get a taste of the music they would get over this.

Maybe, hopefully, that's his strategy.

Five weeks is long from over - he yet may move on them...just when they least expect.

(BTW, his "running off to China" was a master stroke. He showed support to OUR athletes and to the world, giving an example of what a FREE country is about. And it meant a lot to our athletes...hellava lot better than when Carter boycotted the Russian Olympics, which forever buried the Olympic hopes of many of our athletes who had trained a lifetime for the opportunity.)

The President has no business doing the House Republicans’ work for them.

The house Republicans can NOT call congress back into session, but Prince George can. The movement needs momentum, nation wide momentum NOW, we don't have that. Prince George could have supplied that by forcing the MSM to cover the issue that the vast majority of people favor. Pelosi will probably ride this out when she and the Rats could have been defeated quickly and soundly. A great opportunity is in the process of being squandered....again!

It's not "America's war" either - it's the World's.

The free countries of the WORLD are being attacked...something that our MSM media under reports, to keep the myth of Bush-War going.

Ahhh yes, blaming the President for all the world’s problems. How quaint and unique.

Had President Bush immediately called them back into session, this would have been portrayed as a joint Bush/GOP conspiracy. While the Dems will likely still portray it as such down the road, that argument won’t carry as much weight if this is seen as a bottom-up movement. Dubya’s not on the ballot this time around. He doesn’t need to excite the Pubbie masses. The GOP reps and senators, plus McCain (try not to laugh), need to do the inspirational work.

If only people like you would put half as much energy into contacting their representatives and fighting for conservative policy positions and politicians as you do trashing a somewhat conservative President and a decent man...

The Prez may be able to call them back but he cannot force a vote. It's up to the House Repubs and the people.

Oil fight could trigger a federal shutdown

(BTW, his "running off to China" was a master stroke.

A master stroke would have been staying home and helping House Republicans to hand Pelosi and the Rats their asses.

Five weeks is long from over - he yet may move on them...just when they least expect.

If history teaches me anything, I say dream on.

And Nancy and the Dems can promptly adjourn again. The ONLY thing that is going to work is the American people forcing the Democrats back to work. The thought of the President calling a special session may make the screamingbots all moist in the panties, it does nothing to move the Energy Independence bill to the floor for a vote.

The American people want a solution here, not a political football that can be kicked around by the Talk Radio crowd thur election day then forgotten. Having the President call a special session makes this a partisan issue robbing the GOP revolt of a great deal of it's current credibility. It would turn this into a Bush vrs Congress issue. Right now it is a people vrs DC issue. That is it's true power.

A Special Session forced on the Congress by the President would be a politically dumb move at this point. It would make the issue a partisan, rather then populist, one.

How about the usual suspects try focusing for once on the REAL enemies here, the Do Nothing Democrat Leadership? There are plenty of other threads for them to go vent their knee jerk BDS rather then trying to divert this one off topic.

Congressman Kevin Brady...one of the good guys, of course. He's the guy with the shaved head seen a lot the day the Repubs refused to leave the House floor. He repeated the FL congressman this morning in a phone interview with our local radio station. Congressman Brady called in from Washington, ( a big deal because he LIVES in Conroe with his wife and kids & commutes to Washington, unlike Wexler, and normally would be in his district during the break, but he's in D.C.) according to the radio announcer.

The quote was: We realized what we were up against when a FL congressman said, "WE DON'T WANT ALL THAT NATURAL GAS WASHING UP ON OUR BEACHES."

I might add, IMO Congressman Brady is one of the best conservatives in congress.

“What we need - term limits, and a viable 3rd party.”

Sigh

Okay, and in ten years, you can repeat this same exact post about how the letter “C” (or whatever) doesn’t mean anything.

Only way we’re going to get any results is by doing just what we’re doing right now: Educate the sorry bags of crap we’ve got in Washington right now on the word “representative” and da** promise them that they’d best Come To Jesus or they’re going to be looking for work with the blackest marked-up resume anyone ever saw.

I think the traitorcrats (or at least our two SOB’s in Montana) have already got that word, because the only sign I’ve seen of either was a Friday Oped in the state MSM that got about the same reaction as tossing a quart of gasoline into the cook stove. (The online blog comments got pulled along with the oped last night.)

Guess if you’ve got a problem with either party, you need to quitcherbitchin and go get your favorite sons by the nose until you knock some sense into them.

Third party, my broad butt.

Drill here, Drill now is resonating with voters. If the Republicans, who have been trying to pass an ANWR drilling bill since 95 (Clinton vetoed it), can get traction on this, we can not only get drilling legislation through but gain seats in November. The blame for this mess needs to be tacked on to Dems, where it belongs, and driven home by the House and everyday people.

I know this is going to come as a huge surprise to you but the world does not revolve around the President. Having the President interject himself into this would be politically stupid. It would turn the issue from a populist one into a Bush vrs the Democrats. Considering Bush's approval rating that would be stupid.

The Establishment media is not the center of the universe either. Talk Radio reaches far more people then the nightly news does each and every week. Having them cover it, as they are, is every bit as effective.

You obviously suffer from batter Conservative syndrome. You are still desperately looking to the Establishment media for political validation. Desperately hoping that one day they will finally be forced to acknowledge they are wrong. That is stupid. Turn the Establishment Media off. It is a fully manufactured product. Looking for it to magically start covering they way we want is a sure receipt for depression. It is never going to happen.

The Establishment Media was 100% opposed to the Right on Immigration. Who won that fight? Crying for them to ride in and rescue us in this fight is stupid.

The solution is to replace the Establishment Media with our own media, not try to coopt it with futile grandiose stunts like "calling a special session".
