In a six - three decision (Justices Breyer, Souter and Ginsburg dissenting) the Supreme Court held that even though the ICJ’s Avena decision “constitutes an international law obligation on the part of the United States,” (emphasis in original) the President lacked the requisite authority to compel States to comply with it.

Amnesty International lost all its moral authority some time ago, besides which they are simply wrong in this case.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time....
The ICJ has NO jurisdiction here, and even if it did, Texas still has the last say....
Too bad, so sad....

Remember the Supremes split 5-4 on this issue of executing Medellin. We were one liberal justice away from losing our sovereignty.

....obliviously, Texas didn't sign that (stupid / illegal) international treaty.....
but, the Liberals still wish to cede all legal authority to their International Fiends.

I don’t remember anything about an International Court of Justice in the Constitution. I don’t remember voting for any of the judges. I don’t remember voting for the people who appointed them, either.
Oh, that’s right. NOBODY voted for any of those idiots, not even the citizens of Europe. They just proclaimed themselves our bosses, and told us to bow down to them!
No thanks.

Amnesty International hasn’t had any credibility for the last twenty to thirty years. The United States has been criticized by it over and over. I’d say it can go straight to hell, but they’ve been operating from there for at least twenty years.

The real war we wage is against the dissolution of the nation state in favor of world governance. International courts are just one way to expedite the process.Sorry to be so bold but if we cant convince the freedom loving people of the world why Locke is better than Rousseau or Marx then even our second amendment cant save US. The problem is we are fighting a propaganda machine of the likes nobody has ever imagined and we have very little influence in the formal education of our children. Our lone hope is that people will feel tyranny's grip before it becomes a stranglehold.
