The execution of José Ernesto Medellín Rojas by the state of Texas is a violation of international law, said Amnesty International today. "It undermines the authority of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) which had ruled in favour of a stay of execution."

The real war we wage is against the dissolution of the nation state in favor of world governance. International courts are just one way to expedite the process.Sorry to be so bold but if we cant convince the freedom loving people of the world why Locke is better than Rousseau or Marx then even our second amendment cant save US. The problem is we are fighting a propaganda machine of the likes nobody has ever imagined and we have very little influence in the formal education of our children. Our lone hope is that people will feel tyranny's grip before it becomes a stranglehold.

SO WHAT!!

President Bush's hands are not exactly "clean" on this one either.... of course he did not take any "action" to enfoce his assertion...
On 28 February 2005, after the ICJ decision but before either referenced Supreme Court decision, President Bush declared
I have determined, pursuant to the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the United States will discharge its international obligations under the decision of the International Court of Justice in [Avena], by having State courts give effect to the decision in accordance with general principles of comity in cases filed by the 51 Mexican nationals addressed in that decision.

“F*** the International Court.”
And the horse they rode in on.
I feel sorry for Amnesty Int’l. I wonder what their stance is on abortion? I saw some great rhetoric there on right to life... I just want to know why criminals have it, and babies don't.

International courts have no authority over the US.

So .... I don't give a rats fu**ing ass for the World Court.
The Constitution is supreme ... not the whinny a** liberal socialist commie mantra that pervades Amnesty. org and several others. We live in the United States of America, not the United International World.

I just want to know why criminals have it, and babies don't.That's the question liberals just can't answer. They oppose the DP for the few sadistic muderers we put to death but they'll fight tooth & nail to defend their "right" to kill the innocent unborn.
Liberalism truely is a disease.

I think President Bush was just stating that the law was being followed.
He already had a Texas ‘execution’ issue back when he was Governor.
He acted consistently in both cases.

We started our own country a couple hundred years ago. We don’t have to answer to any self-proclaimed International Courts.

Okay. Dig Medellín up and throw him back in his cell if that will make Amnesty International happy.

you might be right... I have read some articles that suggest the execution was in defiance of a “request” by President Bush.. who admitedly stated that he has no authority to compel the State to comply his request... I could not find a good source for that statement though... anyone know anything about that “request” ??
