UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United States suggested on Sunday that Russia was interested in "regime change" in Georgia after Moscow rejected Tbilisi's offer of a cease-fire in the separatist region of South Ossetia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that the president of Georgia "must go," the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Zalmay Khalilzad, told the Security Council.
Khalilzad then looked straight at Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin and asked if Moscow was looking for "regime change."

Then you are a Soviet loyalist, a Putin apologist, and a troll. And you're on borrowed time here.
Here is a very good report of what is going on OUTSIDE South Ossetia. Where will Pootie-Poot stop his aggression? (Thank MarMema for the BBC link)

Osettia is not a country.
LOL!
so....does this mean you're not going for it?.......;)
A picture says a thousand words. Those two juxtaposed were pretty harsh but accurate.
Ouch!
Why would any future US ally trust us? We threw the Shah of Iran and Saddam Hussein under the bus.
You can disagree with me, but don’t ever come back and wonder why “golly gee willikers, countries and regimes aren’t willing to partner with the US. If you have our back, we’ll have yours.”
What photo editing is he doing?
I didn't "edit" anything. When you make false claims like that, it is evidence you are reaching.
It is a picture that is all over the web. Moreover, I didn't think Bush should have gone to China in the first place. It played right into the Chinese's hand, whose human rights record is abysmal.
Further, he should have left the Olympics when war broke out in Georgia, rather than engage in bikini babe photos.
Roger. Thanks.
We helped in Iraq - now help us, beg Georgians

I can't post the link because it is AFP, but here is what it said in this morning's Daily Telegraph.
May-Treanor then appeared to offer Mr Bush, who later went on to make a statement about the developing situation in Georgia, to spank her bottom as a symbol of encouragement. He took a more restrained view, tapping her lightly on the lower back instead.
I would say the "statment about the developing situation in Georgia" got a bit muddled.
He should leave China and go home.
Note to the mods - this photo is from Reuters, not AP.
First off I wish the hell all of CA would break away. and Vermont and MA and as soon as I myself leave NY, then NY too.
and we are already getting attacked by Mexicans....so whats new.
Sounds to me like the Georgians bit off more than they could chew. A rogue state leaves Georgia and returns to mother Russia, so the Georgians attack arguably the 2nd most powerful state in the world.
What were they thinking??
Why didn’t you publish the picture of Bush standing in front of a church supporting Christians?
That was my point. You chose the pictures that conveyed YOUR feelings about Bush. You were as bad as DU, the DNC, etc.
Many people did not watch the Olympics and are unaware of why “Misty’s” butt is pointing in the President’s direction. You chose that picture because it conveyed your frustrations and anger.
You did not chose a picture of him cycling the Olympic cycling venue. I can go on forever and ever.
He chose the pair of pictures to express he feelings about Bush. The way he displayed those two pictures in one showing is something that CNN, the DNC, KOS and Obama would do. That was my point. Of course he is free to do as he pleases. And I am free to criticize as I please. I just thought the choice was poor.
Der Spiegel has good pictures too. And the BBC has an excellent video report if you haven’t seen it. I have posted the link a few times. You will find it very interesting.
If you are calling for "authorities" to silence someone that you don't agree with (pinging the Mods) then you bet your ass I do.
You seem to be able to bitch, moan and cast stones. Why don't you honestly try to refute his post? Because you cannot?
I think they want slightly more than that, frankly...
Are you going to sing “Feelings” next?
Your response was juvenile and not worthy of more than an electron or two in response.
I guess old dudes patting young chicks on the butt supersedes supporting Georgia during an attack by Russia. I see your priorities.
Thanks Dawn,
I was hoping I’d hear how Poland and other formerly “captive countries” would view this aggression by Russia. This is such a sticky situation. It just goes to show that these countries know what is at stake when dealing with Russia.
