A small correction, to your otherwise excellent post. They were allied until mid-1941.
Why should we get involved here. Not my war, not my continent. Let them fight it out without us.

Itys russias fault and they are still arming them.Yet the idiotc russians/russian supporter thinks its ok because they say he’s christian(lol not). russia has been handing out passports in Georgian territory for four years and massing troops and tans at the border. They are the aggressor.
The nazis used the same excuse in WW2.

Good luck Georgia. I’ll be honest, I haven’t followed the Georgian region close at all, so other than thinking Russia shouldn’t get involved, that’s about my only thoughts on this.

They fought for us in Iraq. We must fight for them in Georgia.
There isn’t going to be any 7th Cavalry to the rescue here. Not under these circumstances. The U.S. isn’t going to get involved in direct support to the Georgian just the same as the Russians are not going to come to the rescue of the Serbs over Kosovo.
Apart from the training and advisors already supplied to the Georgians this is going to be it. No U.S. administration is going to get directly involved either with the immediate direct supply of materials or assistance in this matter.
Yeah, they make a lot of noise, kick up a lot of dust and exhaust.
Personally, the last place I'd want to be in a modern *real* war, would be a tank. They make nice targets.
