Boarder Patrol Agent Held At Gunpoint
Associated Press ^ | 8/8/08 | mmp813

Once again we are told of an incident in which one of our Boarder Patrol Agents has been placed in a life threatening situation while protecting the boarder between Mexico and the United States. However, let's consider this situation a little differently. Let's consider it, if we can, from the thoughts that might have been going through the mind of our Agent while he was being held at gunpoint by the Mexican military on the American side of the boarder.

Do you think that for a brief time our Agent was wishing that there was a fence marking exactly where the boarder is so that even the Mexicans can figure out which country they are standing in? The fence that the Administration and Congress have been talking about for so long and done nothing about. The boarder security that has been promised our Country since 9/11 and still we have illegals walking across our boards because we tie the hands of the very Agency that we put on our boarder to protect us.

In the attached article, which was printed in the Associated Press on August 7, 2008, it stated that, “T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, the union for Border Patrol Agents, said the incursions have created a disturbing pattern. Bonner said there have been at least a half-dozen situations in recent years in which Mexican soldiers have entered U.S. territory and shot at Border Patrol agents. "It's a minor miracle that none of our agents have been killed or seriously injured," he said”

Do you think at any time this Agent felt restricted in his options to defend himself given this Administration's total betrayal to fellow Boarder Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. After all, these two Agents are serving 10 year jail sentences for attempting to do their jobs and protect our boarder against a drug smuggler. The Mexican drug smuggler received immunity and our Agents received solitary confinement in a federal prison! What is the message there? Where is the justice?

We have no definite lines designating the boarder. Incidents of Mexican military, drug cartel or whomever cross the boarder at will. Our Boarder Patrol is not only fighting a battle for us against the illegal immigrants but against our own Justice Department. As one of the convicted agents asked, if border patrol agents aren't allowed by policy to pursue fleeing criminal suspects without first getting a supervisor's approval, how are they supposed to apprehend fleeing terrorist suspects or drug smugglers?

It's time for Americans to decide if they want security on their southern boarders or not. If not then stop asking our Boarder Patrol Agents to risk their lives for a sham.

It was my understanding that a couple have been killed.

None of these “incursions” are by mistake. The well funded drug cartels have GPS and other ways to place their agents, including the Mexican military, exactly where they want them. This is nothing more than protecting a drug/human trafficking business.

Oh no, news that doesn’t fit into the liberal agenda. You know what that means? No MSM coverage of course. Let’s see if any major network (Except maybe FOX) says anything about this.

“It is time for us to decide if we want security on our southern borders or not. If not then stop asking our border patrol agents to risk their lives for a sham.”

That is the bottom line and the absolute truth.

You are correct.

There is a fence (small barb-wire) on the border, as well as a plowed dirt road the agents drive looking for sign of traffic.

The Mexican military knows exactly where they are when it comes to the border.

“Boarder Patrol Agent”

First the borders and now the boarders. Are the boarders becoming a problem now too? It’s bordering on the ridiculous.

We can't rush to judgment. The agent may have made the Mexicans feel uncomfortable. Maybe the justice dept. should investigate. At the very least Bush should, and probably will, apologize to Mexico for this outrage. And charges may be lodged against this agent.

“That decision has already been made by our rulers.”

We can’t just back down to it, we have to keep pushing for what is right.

I don’t see why we have people going after boarders rather than day-hops.

In the Tucson sector alone since last October, there have been 201 assaults on BP agents.

There is no excuse for it, and our President and Congress turn a blind eye. Disgusting.

That should be viewed as a declaration of war.
We should kick Mexico’s ass.

This is more common than people know. I spent nearly 20 years working for the BP and ran into Mexican soldiers several times. Mexico is simply not held accountable. We don’t want to offend Mexico as they would stop sending us Mexicans.
