Optimistic, aren't you. Seems like the groupies are slow to jump in today. How long to get a bingo on the list?
1. It's a tough job and stressful, so give them a break
2. They just want to go home to their families at night, so they can't take any chances.
3. You would take the word of some guy getting drugs mailed to him over the word of a fine police officer?
4. You might criticize, but you would call the cops in a split second if someone was breaking into your house.
5. The guy probably sent his dogs to attack the cops, he is lucky he didn't get shot himself.
In the mean time, read the various posts of this story. These are not the "To protect and serve" variety of law enforcement we once looked up to and turned to when we needed help. These are the dangerous, out of control Nazi enforcer type who need to be in jail.
After re-reading your post, I see that I was wrong in my post to you and I apologize for slamming you like that. This story has me needing meds.
You obviously didn’t read the story.
My apologies. I just belatedly caught the satire in your post.
2.I agree, so they shouldn’t be causing citizens to automatically wonder if they really ARE the police, not some home invasion squad....
3. The “some guy” happened to be known as the mayor of a local town. Getting something mailed to you is not a crime-especially if you did not arrange it. Remember #1 above? The US Constitution?
4. No, I would defend my family first, calling 911 when either I or my wife could do so w/o putting anyone at risk. My right to life and that of my family is paramount in the type of situation you describe. Remember, LEOs do not have to respond to any specific 911 call, only in general (SCOTUS decision back in the 70’s)and response time varies from a few minutes to hours....
5. Maybe the dogs were simply doing what loyal dogs do.... Suggesting that the Mayor set his dogs on the cops is purely speculation and w/o merit.
All this being said, I respect and support my local LEOs-they know me and I know most of them, we shoot together on occasion and drink coffee some mornings (I swore off donuts long ago...).
I penned my comment and posted before reading the follow-on posts-if your comments here were intneded to be sarcastic in nature, fair enough. I do not sense sarcasm though, nor do I see any common symbols or acronyms to indicate it as well.
Hopefully we do not have to endure the same treatment the good mayor (unless you know otherwise?) and his family did.
Regards
Not anymore I wouldn't, I would call the cops for body removable only. I don't like to even see cops anymore.
Lamest excuse ever! The rest of us would like the same priviledge. These no knock raids prevent that. But hey-the cops can sleep good so its all good-NOT!!
