History Occurs! The "Establishment Media" HIDES! (Live Thread VI)
8/08/08 | Sherri Reese

Posted on 08/08/2008 6:06:46 AM PDT by eeevil conservative

One Week STRONG!!!!

"I sat there(on the House Floor) side by side with the American People.." Congressman Duncan Hunter (35 minutes into show)...

There has never been a time in our history when this has occurred. The House is adjourned, but a demonstration from the House Memebers is taking place on the House Floor, and the American Folks are sitting in the empty seats, personally telling their stories to their Representatives, and watching speeches from the Floor in person. This is not a "Constituent Day" this is a full week of HISTORY!

Call to action for today folks-

CALL THE "establishment" that claims to be the leader of Free Speech in our country. Ask them to define news. Ask them if they understand what "news" actually is. Ask them if HISTORY is news. This event WILL be inclided in the history books, and it will also note that this was the beginning of the end for the "establishment media."

Keep the calls and emails going!

“Does the President have to sign it? Does the House have to approve? If someone has more knowledge on the dealings of Congress, please advise. Thanks. ;)”

I have no ‘inside’ knowledge. But the skinny that’s been floating around is that Bush is waiting for momentum to build. If it builds, he knows the country is serious. If it fizzles, then he won’t call. If Bush calls Pelosi without a mandate, he thinks it could backfire.

As for the senate stunt, it hurts the House some, but what really matters is whether momentum builds. My guess is that, with the shifting of gas prices, Bush is wondering how long people will want drilling. He’s trying to see what people will demand on Super Tuesday— lower carbon emissions or lower gas prices? We all know what people want— lower prices. But the Beltway Crowd is spun dizzy by college grads.

A caller shed light to Rush today what was going on in Grahamnesty’s office— Lindsey Graham apparently thinks that the House Rebels are ‘doing harm’, so he pulled his quiet stunt to keep them from losing 60 seats. Rush was furious at the tone deafness he ‘heard’. [Recalling the female caller who told him what the staffer said to her.]

Graham does deserve calls. People had to try several times to get through— a good sign.

So where does that leave us? A lot depends on how informed people already are. Do people on the streets actually fear global warming?

My email to Lindsay Graham.

We have a winning issue on drilling for oil. Republicans could have made gains in elections this November. The public was energized by the House.People are ANGRY at the Dems for stonewalling on drilling. And then you made a deal with Democrats and betrayed Americans. If we lose this issue because you are afraid to do what's right, as I and other Americans sit and shiver this winter because we can't afford fuel oil, I will think of you and your deaf ear when the electorate was screaming DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW.

Email Lindsay Graham.

Response....he sells out all Americans but only has to explain to South Carolina!

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.

Due to the large volume of mail I receive, I regret that I am only able to respond personally to inquiries from South Carolinians.

As we continue our work in the 110th Congress, I look forward to supporting our troops in the War on Terror, providing the men and women of the National Guard and Reserves with improved health care, strengthening Social Security, protecting American jobs, lowering the tax burden on American families, and making the federal government more accountable and efficient.

If your correspondence pertains to a scheduling request, please fax your request to (202) 224-3808.

Sincerely,

Lindsey Graham

Here is my email to Chambliss. Isaakson is up next. Sigh.

“Senator Chambliss,
Why ever would you, and Senator Isaakson effectively cut the legs out from under your fellow Representatives in the House and Senator McCain, from your constituents, and from the American people!? I do not understand!
The actions of you and your fellow “Gang” members, served NONE of the aforementioned, and honestly, I cannot see how it will benefit you. Why would you choose to undermine the efforts of the House Republicans, as they worked to highlight the incredible agenda, and tactics of the House leadership!? Why?
The American people are FINALLY beginning to open their eyes to the reality that our Madame Speaker, actually BELIEVES that her first duty is to the WORLD, second to her OWN conscience, and thirdly, FINALLY, to the Constitution of the United States! This is when you five gentlemen decide that the time is ripe to ride to our rescue?! A rescue that, interestingly enough, gives the Democrat Leadership EXACTLY what it wanted, while gaining NOTHING for the American people.

Nice job fellas, with Representatives like you all, who needs Democrats.

Tatt

P.S. One more very important question for you Senator. Exactly how, are you going to fix this?”

To: Old Sarge

I can see your point to a degree, Old Sarge, that the average American doesn’t normally do alot of political research and get worked up. They believe the little they hear, go on with their normal lives, and bitch abou it at the water cooler. However, I do believe that due to the recent economics, the wars, and the negative talk by liberal MSM, people are very worked up right now. The problem is that many watch the news, pick up bits and pieces of half truths and run with half truths. That is the very reason it is important to put pressure and attention so that a light can shine on the whole truth. Maybe not everyone is cut out for protesting, letter writing, and so forth. But, many are, and it is because of those people that we can bring attention to matters. You remind me alot of my Dad, God bless his soul. Somewhat pessimist, he though of himself as a realist being part of the depression, WWII, and just seeing life run it’s course in society. But, as you may feel discouraged or even believe that trying is fruitless, let’s at least give those with the energy to try a pat on the shoulder. God bless you, Old Sarge.

Actually I was edging a large flower bed—clay soil—with a camping spade. My husband kept saying the flat edging shovel was better but this one has a point and it’s easier to drive it into the soil. Hasn’t been touched in a few years. When I’d dig down, I’d hit a wandering tree root from the nearby maple, so there was a lot of prying up roots and cutting them off too, also cutting spreading feeder roots. Took forever. My Senior Sneakers class paid off tho—I had the strength to do it. Just exhaling on the exertion increases strength.

Then spent over an hour pruning a peach tree. I know it’s the wrong time of year but it was a jungle up there. Ended up with 3 large barrels of stuff. I cut everything into 12” lengths—holds more that way.

The reason my husband doesn’t do it is back problems but I’d rather do it my way anyway. :)

This morning cleaned the fridge and the bottom shelf made me crazy. I would rather be out digging! :)

Never did catch up on all these threads—maybe later today.

Thanks. I sure wish I was writing more Thank You notes though : \

Here is my missive to Isakson.

Senator Isakson,
In light of yesterday’s stunning “Gang” announcement, I have several questions that require your answers.
1.Why would you and Senator Chambliss, make the decision to totally undermine your fellow Representatives in the House, John McCain, your constituents, and the American people?! I do not understand. Your actions served NONE of the aforementioned, and honestly, I cannot see how it will benefit you.

2.Why did you choose to to work with the Democrat Senators, at the cost of the House Republicans? Our Representatives worked all week to bring to light the REAL agenda of the House leadership, and the stunning arrogance involved. Clearly you, nor any of the rest of your “Gang” has been paying any attention.

Well sir, some of us out here are, and together with those fine Republicans in the House who FINALLY said; enough is enough; are getting the REAL message out to the American people. Finally America is awakening to the reality that our current Madame Speaker, actually BELIEVES that her first duty is to the WORLD, and NOT to the United States! Her second responsibility is, no surprise here, to HERSELF! Oh yes, and then there is that funny old Constitution, not that it seems to keep her from doing whatever she jolly well feels like. After all, it is a “living” document. How handy.

3. Are YOU in Washington to serve America? If so, start acting like it. Between that incredible Illegal Immigration fiasco and this mess, this constituent is none too sure. You seem all too willing to rollover and provide EVERYTHING for the Democrat leadership, while hanging the rest of us out to dry.

4. Last question - How are you going to fix this? The American people are poorly served by Representatives who pretend to solve our problems by voting themselves a 5 week “recess”, and are equally dissatisfied with Senators who provide cover for them.

I look forward to your response.

Tatt

I have scoliosis and 2 herniated disks which is the reason all my roses aren't planted yet. And I love the darn things! We have clay too. And stones. I bent the tip on my spade a long time ago. lol

I've been pulling up Virgina Creeper. The stuff is everywhere. And wild roses. Darn thorny things. Took out all but one white one and left 2 pink ones too.

The worst is the weeds. The gardens haven't been taken care of for years so I'm finding all kinds of flowersbeds that were overgrown with weeds. Discovered a rosebush in the lawn too. Looks like there was a rosebed there at one time. The poor thing has been repeatedly mowed. I even found some lemon balm and spearmint. It's going to take a long time to clean up these gardens and keep them clear.
