I have scoliosis and 2 herniated disks which is the reason all my roses aren't planted yet. And I love the darn things! We have clay too. And stones. I bent the tip on my spade a long time ago. lol

I've been pulling up Virgina Creeper. The stuff is everywhere. And wild roses. Darn thorny things. Took out all but one white one and left 2 pink ones too.

The worst is the weeds. The gardens haven't been taken care of for years so I'm finding all kinds of flowersbeds that were overgrown with weeds. Discovered a rosebush in the lawn too. Looks like there was a rosebed there at one time. The poor thing has been repeatedly mowed. I even found some lemon balm and spearmint. It's going to take a long time to clean up these gardens and keep them clear.

Don’t know how you manage with severe back problems. I had a laminectomy 34 years ago and thankfully my back is usually pretty good. Lot’s of exercises to build it up. My husband has back problems which is why I’m doing much of the gardening—he does the mowing.

I really enjoy it tho. Almost feel as tho I’m cheating when I’m working outside! Always nice to make things look prettier. We have lots of clay too but my exercises have improved my strength so I can do more.
